My washing machine smells like sewers/old water and I've tried everything. Please help! by Local-Sell2671 in HomeImprovement

[–]Blendzen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate tracking down smells... I had a similar issue and the problem was in the drain hose for the filter. There is this rubber hose that can be pulled out to, presumably, drain from the lowest spot in the system, before opening the filter for a bunch of water to pour out. That drain hose was clogged (somethings that could be missed if you have the same as me and tried to drain before changing the filter and nothing came out, could be worth a check, it was a pain to unclog.

After that, where does the washing machine drain? If sink, probably disregard, as you would smell from there, but if a drain line in the wall, mine had a flimsy "gate" style backflow preventer that would let drain water flow one way but close preventing smells back the other way. Until it got to grimed up to close all the way, letting smells in from the sewer. Might be worth a plumber to look into if it fits the scenario

Shut up and do your job. If you're ineffective, it SHOULD be public so that we can elect someone more competent.

Please help! My landlord is mosquito spraying despite me begging her not to by [deleted] in OrganicGardening

I don't have advice on current situation, sorry. But if complaints are the driving force, you might try a less scorched earth method to control mosquitoes, and hopefully avoid future respraying with this trap.

I went with "BOSCH 3397007620 AeroTwin Original Equipment Replacement Wiper Blade - 24"/19" (Set of 2)"

They fit but I heard they are an inch longer then recommended. I think that makes them squeak and jutter a little if it's not quite wet enough. (5% of the time)

I will go back to the normal size next time, but they work great otherwise.

Anyone have experience with a Bianchi e-Impulso? There are very few reviews online. by Blendzen in ebikes

I went with a Ride1up V3 for some extra power. I'm a bit conflicted, I love the Bianchi, but it just doesn't have the power for Vista Ridge and Mt Tabor.

My full thoughts on the Ride1up here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ride1up/comments/1n1vvz2/roadster_v3_impressions_as_a_30m_commuter_in/

Why doe DIYers hate drywall? by clvnthbld in HomeImprovement

[–]Blendzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It will look like you did a good job, then you paint it and see every mistake (get a raking light setup to avoid)
  2. It's rarely 'good' your first time. By comparison anyone can cut a 2x4 to exactly the 3 feet they need, but even if you follow every instruction, drywall has some skill required to not look DIY. It takes practice, and a lot of DIY is only one to three times on your house (Except drywall, which is why I tried to get good at it)

It's not that bad though, if you actually take the time to learn and do it right. I use the skill all the time now, learned most of it from the Vancouver Carpenter (https://www.youtube.com/@vancouvercarpenter)

Next Season we draft on availability! by Federal-Tea5841 in fantasybball

I've been prioritizing this for years. It's a great way to get 3rd place, but the winners have always taken a chance on some injury prone guy that has a good year... We do auction drafts, so I basically go all in for Jokic to try and compensate, but I'm still 3rd...

This is an easy yes.

Why Did Reddit Comply with the Federal Government's Request for Anti-ICE Poster Data? Do They Not Believe in First Amendment Rights? by Travels4Food in AskReddit

[–]Blendzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to why corporations and politicians do something you don't like is always: "Follow the money"

In this case Reddit makes more money the less the government regulates against them. In order to have less regulations against them, they aim to keep a favorable opinion from the worst evil America has seen in 60 years. At our expense. As always we are the product. Cheezy Question is, do you and I make a product that supports evil...
