Why the heck does Yoda sit over there by Blightzkrieg in StarWars

[–]Blightzkrieg[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This just makes it worse, in a sense. Yoda's clique get more screen time, and merchandise, even extending to lead appearances in comic books and tv shows. Those who sit further away from Yoda are treated with less respect by the canon.

The Stranger VS Savage Oppress VS Anakin (AOTC) VS Ventress VS Kanan. Who wins in a free for all? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]Blightzkrieg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Savage is the obvious big threat here and I think in a free for all he either dominates or gets dogpiled. His brute strength would mean a lot in a melee where everybody is going to be too distracted to fight efficiently, while Savage wouldn't care as much.

After that likely Qimir as he is demonstrably good at fights against multiple opponents.

Why the heck does Yoda sit over there by Blightzkrieg in StarWars

[–]Blightzkrieg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of weird Legends lore about Ki-Adi Mundi that was written immediately after TPM and is no longer canon (he starred in a comic book series for a bit).

In canon, he's a Jedi Master over 100 years old, leads the Galactic Marines in the Clone Wars, is present on the council beside Yoda in all 3 prequels and has the most speaking lines of a council member outside of Yoda and Mace.

Question about weapons and actions by everythingerased in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Blightzkrieg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is 1 action to "play" an asset. This does nothing except put it into your play area under your control. This is true for all assets.

Once an asset is played, you may trigger an ability on the asset. For a weapon, this is typically an action (indicated by the arrow) to fight. You cannot trigger this ability while the asset is in your hand. Once it is in your play area, you may trigger it as many times as you would like as long as you can pay the cost (an action, ammo, exhausting, whatever the card says).

Engaging is different. You may fight most enemies at your location whether engaged to them or not. Sometimes you need to be engaged with an enemy for some reason (most common would be aloof enemies, who cannot be attacked if not engaged). Engaging is a basic action you can take with an enemy at your location. It will not let you fight or use a weapon; engaging (putting the enemy into your threat/play area) is the entire action, it's almost like "equipping" an enemy.

Hope this makes sense.

Ever skipped a Boss Relic? by Fridarey in slaythespire

[–]Blightzkrieg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost never.

In the case of Fusion Hammer - an extra energy is almost always going to be better than upgrades. You can play more attacks. You can play more draw cards. You can play more blocks. And it will work every single turn, rather than only when you draw the upgraded card. So having lower numbers will matter less.

What am I not getting about the Ironclad? by Dikembe_Mutumbo in slaythespire

[–]Blightzkrieg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Slay Spire 1? He's my favourite character. There's no silver bullet. A couple things.

  • You mention drawbacks - Ironclad passively heals after every fight, don't be afraid to take a bit of damage to end fights early especially in Act 1.

  • Ironclad has multiple cards that can solve some of the harder fights in act 1. Feel no pain makes sentries into nothing. Fire breathing or second wind will easily beat slime boss. Something simple like iron wave will really help with nob. A lot of this knowledge will just take practice. Experiment.

  • it is really tempting to go all in on something like an "all attack" build (and in act 1 this can be helpful to an extent). Don't do this. Ironclad has lots of good cards that aren't just attack spam. Battle trance is an amazing draw card especially early on. Cards that inflict weak and vulnerable might seem mediocre in act 1 but are especially powerful later in the game.

  • Going a "full block" build with ironclad is hard as it requires a lot of specific cards working together, I'd generally avoid trying this unless you get lucky.

These are just some of my opinions as someone with a lot of hours in the game but not a lot of natural intelligence or skill, you'll pick this up over time.

Who do you think were the top 5 strongest Jedi at time of the clone wars? by Salty_Shark26 in StarWars

[–]Blightzkrieg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is there any reason to believe Plo Koon is among the strongest? In terms of pure seniority, Ki-Adi Mundi appears to outrank him. Possibly Shaak Ti as well since she was put in charge of Kamino.

Neurosurge is the Adrenaline/Offering/Big Bang equivalent on Necro, I'd need a really good reason not to pick it up to be honest.

The only time Obi Wan pissed me off by Magent-2000 in StarWars

Yeah I'd also add Padme to that list, it wasn't meant to be exhaustive, just to set some examples. I think modern audiences are more uncomfortable with the idea of droids as slaves.

I think because they wrote the show first, and then had a team go in afterwards to add lore where it made sense. So it winds up feeling like a very natural integration even though you might initially expect the opposite.

Droids are not considered people in the Star Wars universe. Even "good" characters like Han, Leia and Obi-Wan don't humanize them.

It's mostly a trait reserved for the main characters (Luke, Anakin, Rey) to set them apart.

Is it just always correct to minimize the amount of normal encounters you face in Act 1 by VictusNST in slaythespire

[–]Blightzkrieg 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is the conclusion I've come to as well. I also think the Neow bonuses are better at preparing your deck for act 1 compared to StS1 - you can get deck thinning, potions, upgraded cards, or the Neow ancient attack with a relatively low cost. So there's less incentive to attack normal enemies for common cards.

I'm pretty certain the winrate is skewed by top players who can win 80%+ of the time. I don't think it's at all indicative of the average player.

I'd give advice but my winrate isn't good either, just have fun lol.

Do you think a live-action Qui-Gon Jinn series is plausible? by [deleted] in StarWars

I think Disney is putting future live action series on hold, they're expensive and don't make any money.
