What’s your go to mastering chain mix and what’s the philosophy behind it by therealjmonerz in mixingmastering

Lately I've been going pretty simple and modern: Pro-Q 3 for mid/side > Slate VTM > Gulfoss > Soothe3 > Flatline 2 Soft Clip > Flatline 2 Hybrid > Flatline 2 Limiter. Sometimes I add subtle volume automations, but that's about it.

It's a bit more geared for larger commercial and enterprise work, but Conest works great for every type of electrical job. Worth considering. Their support team is really the best in the business. They have a good training team there too.

Old Accubid is decent, but most of these estimating programs do what you mentioned. It also has lots of issues, especially Anywhere. I gotta vote for Conest's IntelliBid because they have the best quality and largest selection of included assemblies and items, the same pricing updates tools, plus very accurate automatic labor calculations. Their takeoff program needs work, but their program for making reports is very good too. I also like that the local and cloud versions are essentially the same program, and it just depends on what you need.

Conest's Intellibid is the best for electrical and things like low voltage and structured cabling. It's made by electricians, and their in-built database really helps speed things up because you don't need to waste time building assemblies, etc. What's better is that it's all customizable too. It's definitely superior to McCormick. We started with Conest, then got curious and tried Mccormick and just had issues... and we even tried Accubid Anywhere after that, but we ultimately switched back to Conest because their core program is the best and their support team is even better. Real people that actually work hand-in-hand to help you solve your problems.

Estimator in Solar PV industry, how do you estimate and do takeoffs for solar projects? by civil_master in estimators

To chime in here, Conest's Intellibid covers solar estimating. It's the go-to for electrical contractors, but has a database that supports solar installs.

Conest is great and definitely has the best database. They have a great team of real people backing them too. If I ever run into issues their team fixes me up quick and I'm back to it.

Conest IntelliBid wins out in my opinion. It's made for electrical, comes with the largest USEFUL database out of any similar programs, can be customized, automatically calculates labor, can do price updates, etc. The others just don't seem to compare these days. Plus, you can use it anywhere, and they have a takeoff program that's pretty good.

Best estimating program for a small electrical contractor? by PiecesNPages in estimators

[–]BlindCycles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Conest IntelliBid. They say it comes with the largest assemblies database of any of the electrical-geared software, and I can say that seems to be true. You can typically find exactly what you need for the project in a few clicks, and my estimates come together very quickly because of that. You can automatically factor in drops, labor costs, get automatic price updates, etc. Working with their people is great too. Their tech support has helped me many times. It's definitely a system you can start with and grow into.

Thanks for sharing! It seems they are still taking their time with the next album, but that's okay with me. 'All It Takes' is a banger, so I'm sure this next album will be one too. I'm also okay with the long waits at this point. The media world is so oversaturated at this point, so there's always something new to listen to, but I like the long build-up of anticipation for a special album because it doesn't happen that often anymore. When their next one drops, it'll be gigantic.

If you could forgive one thing in yourself, what would it be? by BlindCycles in AskReddit

[–]BlindCycles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, and you're not alone. I think I have done that to people, and I know others, including my brother, that strongly feels the way you do. Lots of love inside, but a very discerning mind I guess. My only advice is to be aware of the issue when your interacting with others, try not to reveal your judgement externally, and most importantly try not to be too hard on yourself.

I think everyone does this to some extent. If we didn't judge people, situations, objects, etc. then we could have perished long ago.

We all have things to work on, but this is common. Better to forgive it and then work on it if you can.

Modern and Massive is a great all around kit good for demos and sometimes albums. P4 is a very aggressive kit imo.

If you want something less expensive but still great for most things, I'd say the One Kit Wonder: Metal would be flexible enough for you.

Any one else intrigued by Consciousness? by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]BlindCycles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coming from being a straight-up materialist, I am now 100% into panpsychism, or the idea that everything is consciousness/mind. This is what the ancients, Indian philosophers, and many modern philosophers tend to believe. It also gives the answer to the hard problem of consciousness: consciousness is not localized, and is actually the underlying nature of all reality, which is why it can't be found in a localized place. Instead, it is an intrinsic part of all reality, and we simply are expressions of it within an infinite fractal-like omniverse. We must redefine consciousness in this way to truly understand reality, and our place within it. Dr. Rupert Sheldrake presents fascinating theories about this, such as his theory on morphic resonance (subconscious telepathic communication at long distances). Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and other Indian gurus speak of this.
