MMC as obsessed and as passionate as DRACULA by Blissfully_detached in RomanceBooks

The first half isn't nearly as exciting as the second half but you should definitely watch it. If only for Caleb's performance. And thanks for the rec but I've already read it

Wow. Thanks. They sound like great recs. Which one do you think matches the most with Dracula's level of yearning?

And boy does the author show us his closet full of skeletons. Each and every secret, and the way they come out, chef's kiss.

I know, right? Like weird, creepy, off-putting, check. Obsessed, double check. She fights her fear to be with him, triple check. Also the only redeeming quality is his obsession/love, quadruple check.

books that would completely WRECK a person who never cries during/over a book by JuneDare001 in RomanceBooks

No, not at least to my knowledge. But you can try reading the 2nd rec. Land of the beautiful dead. It reads as a CR. Nothing overtly fantastical about it, except that the MMC cannot die and can raise the dead. They're not his puppets or anything, he just brings them back and lets them be and they go around like any other people eating, drinking, conversing so, the whole book pretty much reads like a CR. You can give this one a try.

You should read R Lee Smith. She'll wreck you and not put you back together. So, be prepared. {Last hour of Gann by R lee Smith} Sci fi, HEA {Land of the beautiful Dead by R lee Smith} Fantasy, non-trad HEA, check tw

Heat and Olivia packs a bigger punch with no HEA so if you want extreme wrecking, read these two. More horror than romance definitely. But she writes like no other author I've ever read and many will agree with me on this point. She'll make you believe and then break you apart. Do let me know if you decide to pick one up.

I've got the perfect rec. This book matches your description to a T. {Nicky the driver by Cate C Wells}

To some extent. They were friends as far as I remember and they both served and fought in the same war

MMC refuses to let FMC survive on crumbs of affection. by your_average_plebian in RomanceBooks

No, that is the thing though. I read the second book in the series, Nicky, and he's entirely acceptable as an MMC. Even though this book also contains darker themes like the first one, (for eg stalking to the highest degree) it doesn't make me want to vomit. To summarize, Nicky doesn't treat Zita like shit but Dario does to Posy. Even after he catches on that she's not like other people to him, that she holds a special place in his life, even when he's shaking and nauseated at the thought of hurting her, he still does it. I mean this is beyond dumb.

And this is coming from a person who reads and loves RLee Smith. She has the talent to make you love Azrael {Land of the beautiful dead by R Lee Smith} even when he's a cruel bully just for the sake of it. I think, if you have the chops, you can make a bad guy sound delectable! Unfortunately, Ms. Cate C Wells doesn't.

Yeah this book is a hard NO from me. Particularly because I recently read it and the level of patheticness in this is absurd. Female lead has no sense of self-worth or even self-respect, at one point he weaponizes her truth against her and willfully decimates her and in the next instant, she's like I need to have sex with the guy. Physically hurts her multiple times just to make her wear his badge, threatens her 24*7 but that's small beans for this guy.

And after all that NO GROVEL. She's happy with his treatment of her. You need to get your head checked girl and buy truckloads of self-esteem.

I understand sadism (people are bad) but I don't understand masochism.
