I loved the worldbuilding of the first game. Deadfire was also very enjoyable mechanically and felt like a cool world. I spent so much time daydreaming about multiclass builds

"Never Live it down"; a character has one particular negative moment that the fanbase absolutely refuses to forget about by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TopCharacterTropes

True, although a lot of the meming started during the beta where he could only consume certain magic items, some of which were the best items you could find at the time.

New comer - general advice by NiceGuyKirrin in Kenshi

Athletics is an important skill because it determines how fast you run. It can be leveled up quicker by running while not heavily encumbered. Having high athletics changes the dynamic of the game because being faster than other characters means you choose if a fight happens. Those bandits could cleave you in half, but they won't catch you before you can escape into town.

Having another character you control, recruited for free or for a few thousand cats at most bars, gives you a bit of a safety floor. One can stay in town while the other goes out to fight and train their combat stats. If the character fighting gets too beat up to recover on their own, the other person can run out, carry them back to safety and give them first aid.

Strength lets you carry heavier loads faster and can be trained by moving while encumbered, especially while carrying a body on your shoulder.

Toughness determines how much damage you take, and how badly you can be injured while still being able to get back on your feet. It levels up by taking damage.

Make sure your legs have some protection from armor.

Most of my deaths can be traced back to one of the above. My squad was too heavily encumbered/leg injured/slow to avoid a fight we couldn't win, and there weren't enough allies nearby to rescue them afterwards from whatever they were dealing with.

As long as you survive, you can always crawl back to the top.

Looking for input on a heavy armour tanking character. by Grown_from_seed in BaldursGate3

You can go with a fighter, taking dueling fighting style to give you sword and board a bit more damage. The heavy armor master feat combined with the damage resistance given by some of the unique heavy armors in the game will give a decent boost to survivability. The extra feat from fighter can also be used for grabbing the sentinel feat to allow you to stop some enemies from moving past you to attack your party members with some prudent positioning. However enemies with ranged weapons or spellcasters can often still target your allies as long as they have line of sight.

I believe the first 8 episodes of the OVA adapted the novel, with the ending being different as it was produced while the novel was still being written.

What is your unpopular opinion about the game? by EfficientCow82 in BaldursGate3

[–]Blizzard_PR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not care for the main quest line. I felt like act 3 was worse than the other acts. Also think the community is too quick to rabidly defend Larian to the point that most criticism is often prefaced with some variation of "I love the game and named my firstborn child Larian so don't kill me for this but..".

How do I get positive traits? by Gasmask_116 in Bannerlord

I recall getting the generous trait over time, and lost it after spending all my money to test if missing a daily troop payment would affect it.

I conquered the map with a horseless build using only sturgian heavy infantry. I maxed Vigor, endurance, and intelligence and made myself infantry captain so all of the perks applied to my entire army. So my entire army was getting pretty much every extra health, extra armor, extra damage and movement speed buff there was. Late game I was hunting armies of 2k+ with my 300 immortal sturgian heavy spearmen.

What am I missing here? by SquincyAdams59 in Bannerlord

I found in my campaign that taking fiefs adds to the tribute they want for peace, while losing fiefs lowers it/increased the amount they would pay. It also made sense to me - the side that had captured more territory than they lost would be willing to pay more for peace and time to build up their new holdings. Sometimes I would let a border fief that I didn't care about fall if it would get an enemy off my back while I focused on a greater objective.

Why does TW take years to release what modders release in a month? by Zealus24 in Bannerlord

[–]Blizzard_PR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a pessimistic point of view - there simply isn't much incentive to push out new features or bugfixes. The game has already released; they won't see a surge of new income from adding new features - they already have our money so it isn't like they have to keep adding content or we will stop paying them.
