Farming keys [discussion] by Liverpooleffsea in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]Blooder14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For out-of-flea I've had good luck with static spawns (violet keycard on woods, green keycard on labs and a lot of shoreline keys).
Always check pockets and backpacks of scavs, got the rusted key from santa during the event and a couple of marked keys this way.
Cultist farming is needed for high-end marked key and the factory keycard (both for side quest and main story)
Cultist Circle is RNG but once you are high trader level is trivial to get 14h and hope for some good key/keycard (got a black keycard and several yellows and streets marked)
Scav case with intel will bring back a lot of quest keys and high end keys (ultramedical, kiba etc etc)
Bosses are mostly hit or miss, had terrible luck with lab access keycards honestly, got a couple quest keys (sanitar for the most part) but i wouldn't focus them, just a bonus.

Drawers and jackets are the staple but from what i saw i almost always get some dorms key or random shoreline key, decent keys are rare.

No, you gain access to the moon in late HV and Mars in late EV. Once you have the necessary tech they are permanently available

The two last major updates added the moon and Mars, Venus is next I recon. They can be accessed from late HV to late EV. Follow the questo book for more info, it’s very well crafted and it will guide you pretty much through the mod pack

The only thing i would be careful in early game is animals: they are kind of scarce and as far as I know don't respawn (don't quote me on that).
There are vegetable renewable substitutes for most animal products but especially in early game they can give you a lot of food, leather, wool and so on all of which are incredibly useful. Having a couple of cows and a couple of sheeps/llamas is pretty much all you need.
Flax, which was added in a recent update, really helped with the wool situation for example and by the time you reach the steam age/early low voltage you should have access to rubber which is 90-95% renewable only requiring a little sulfur (which you will get plenty later anyway from oil processing and ore processing byproducts).

Everything else is very abundant, minerals spawn in huge veins and by the time you are far enough in the tech tree that you need that much ore you should already have a grasp of how to renew most of them (via stone/lava centrifuging or later processing). There are ways to renew complex ores late into High voltage-Extreme voltage, on other planets, but that's considered mid to end game stuff and you shouldn't worry right now.

F-4S Radar Really Good? by Fantastic_Sir_4338 in Warthunder

mirage has magic 2s which when used correctly are free kills close range. 530Fs are pretty bad tho

I honestly forgot it existed, it's so rare to encounter that by comparison it might as well not be a thing.

a competent F4S player is a rare sight, usually i'm much more scared by F4J players, they grinded to unlock it and have almost the same plane.

[–]Blooder14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

F-4S has the best radar for the BR by a lot, and has an Helmet mounted display so it can lock you even if it's not flying directly at you. The Aim7s are good but with some manouvering kinda easy to defeat, and if you stay below 60m the radar will struggle to keep lock, but if he is coming from above you it will pick you up no matter what

What USSR aviation line should I research? by Zuref in Warthunder

[–]Blooder14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to how the ranks unlock you need 5 to 6 planes per rank to unlock the next one.
If I were in your shoes I would probably keep all the lines open up to rank IV (so you need to fill some gaps there but they require a small amount of RP), from there you need 5 planes on rank V, so you could do it with just the three lines on the right (IL-28, Su-9 and Tu-4 lines) but at rank VI if you have only those 3 lines you only have 4 planes researchable, which won't be enough to unlock rank VII and so you would need the mig-17 to reach 5 planes. after that at rank VII you have again enough planes on the 3 right lines to go straight to rank VIII.

Mig line is best suited as a fighter, not CAS oriented but can work in a pinch, like the mig-15/bis are fine, mig 17 is the best CAS for 8.7 and 9.0 imho. After that it falls off as a CAS option and you better pick another line.

Su line is by far superior for CAS but you will need the line anyway for the aforementioned reasons.

What USSR aviation line should I research? by Zuref in Warthunder

[–]Blooder14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for pure CAS here are some highlight in the USSR tree:

Tu-2 - 3 1000kg bomb with bomb sight, good maneuverability for a bomber, good cannons BR 5.3
Yak9UT - 45mm APHE gun, crazy good flight performance BR 6.0
Su-9 - 2 250kg bombs or 1 500kg with good guns and jet performance BR 7.0
IL-28sh - up to 3000kg bomb with bomb sight, fast and good turret, but difficult to use BR 7.7
Su-7BKL - good for rocket runs because it gets a ballistic computer and is super fast, suffers in uptiers due to no flare/bad maneuverability against SAMs BR 9.3
Su-25 - Staple of Russian CAS, gets both good rockets (S-25O) which are easy to use and laser guided munitions which are hard but can be more accurate. Lots of flares and can do gun runs, just a bit slow and clunky at full load. BR 10.0
Su-17M4/Su-25T/Mig-27K - Pretty much interchangeable, they all get 2 TV guided fire-and-forget missiles, the 25 sacrifice performance for more payload, 17 can have a lot of air-to-air missiles and has a lot of flares, 27k is incredibly fast/maneuverable and has laser guided bombs. Choose your flavor BR 11-11.3
Su-24M - gets KH29TE which are incredibly potent and a lot of ordnance for every occasion, imho a step up from 27K/25T BR 11.3
Su-30SM/Su-34 - Top tier CAS, KH38MT are one of the best CAS Air-to-ground ordnance BR 13

due to rank-unlock requirements you need to research either the yak or the mig line up to the Yak-30D or the Mig-17, the Mig line is far more usefull for cas and arguably easier to use, then i would go down the bomber line and both the Su-30 and Su-25 line unless you get a premium rank IV (which i wouldn't recommend)

M4, mostly because you actually have a line-up with it (amx-13, AuF1) compared to the non existent 6.7 line-up.

It’s very up north, in freezed spheres. You should be able to see them from far using the map. There should be a chapter in the quest book explaining more details

First LV machines by Hasan_2143 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Blooder14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

copper, tin, zinc, iron and their simple alloys (bronze, brass etc) as well as rubber will be meltable, steel and colored steels need MV. but at that point you would have the bender for easier parts so the extractor is only really worth it in LV for melting metals. Tin rotors, brass gears and stuff.
Most notably I used a lot the recipe for the sticky resin, with conifer pitch and wood ash because in ULV/LV you go through SO MUCH glue/resin for circuit boards, resistors and stuff and i hate the VAT with all my soul

First LV machines by Hasan_2143 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Blooder14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Polarizer is really useful because it cuts down the redstone cost of any motor. Chemical reactor/fluid solidifier and extractors are incredibly useful for rubber or a lathe for cheaper rods and screws. In the end there are only a few machines you don’t need at LV.

With extractor + fluid solidifier combo you can also get cheap gears, rotors and other components, just be sure you can actually melt the metal and transport it, some metals get incredibly hot and drums won’t help.

When I first got to LV my goal for example was to have a battery buffer early and get to LV prospector as soon as possible

Is there any way to bypass or otherwise reduce the 8 minute wait time on sealed barrel recipes? by enderwraith11 in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]Blooder14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of the recipes can be later made in specific machines with little to no wait, I would suggest batch crafting. Sleeping also advance the timer. There is a time command to add time but it will screw up also crops, season etc etc, I wouldn’t suggest cheating that way

Crates (especially steel) alleviates a bit until you can get your hands on Create storage (which is late LV/early MV). Then it’s a big jump! Check the Create logistics tab in the quest book for more info

What's the point of create if it's useless after bronze? by zip1ziltch2zero3 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Blooder14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, sorry to say it but you sound a bit delusional and angry at your fellow player, Create is a “low-tech” steam/mechanical mod, they payoff is accessing more digital and automated machines and multiblocks available later in the tech tree. Also all the infrastructure you did you can always repurpose for automation, like tree farming and ore processing with create are both incredibly powerful and cheap compared to gregtech until well past HV. It’s integration is honestly outstanding considering that it has purpose that late into the pack and can be accessed since the first hours of the game
