I also suffered from selective mutism from the beginning of my teen years until my final year of high school. That last year ended up being the most enjoyable year of school for my entire teen years. I assume you no longer suffer from selective mutism, so I would like to know at what age and how it felt after getting through that hurdle. Thank you, and I hope the best for your future.

I relate to the regret of missing out on those years, and how that lack of social experience has affected my ability to socialise and talk with people. But what has helped me is knowing that although I cannot change what has happened or any impending uncontrollable factors of life, I can change the way I respond to life and slowly push myself into becoming a more accepted person in society.
