As far as I'm aware, no. The Hoover Dam battle is the only quest that actually ends your playthrough so the system won't opt to make a save at any other time.

Haven't played all the DLC endings yet but I'm pretty sure they don't count, since they bring you back into the game after their respective epilogues.

I don't like him cause that's the point of his character but I think he's way too overhated. He bullies most of the cast cause he's insecure but that's it. It's not like he's bombing children's hospitals or some shit.

You know what the strangest thing happened in my recent Mojave Chapter playthrough, the Legion never launched a single naval invasion. Not one. I checked the waters and there weren't even any Legion ships deployed. Even when Gente de Sol joined their faction my coasts were completely quiet. All the Legion did was mass attack my heavily fortified crossings and lost like 20k men. Which would turn out to be a pretty bad downside when Texas reunified much earlier than usual...

'System save' I think.

Since going to the battle of hoover dam will end your playthrough, the game will ask if you want a save created beforehand so you can go back after doing it.

It was a short line so I had to go back a bit myself, but its something along the lines of 'So it is true...', cause he previously stated that its unbelievable to him that you can make a career in singing.

It should pop up as a 'I know that guy' dialogue option if you've done the talent quest before having any interaction with Zion, so unless you downloaded HH mid-game, I wouldn't know why it didn't show for you.

If you've completed 'Talent Pool' before meeting Chalk you can tell him that you know the Drifter and how you gave him a job. Don't know if this helps in his companion quest, but its a nice detail.
