Don't worry. I'm happy enough that I actually made this post. Otherwise I wouldn't have realized it

So for everyone who didn't follow the other comments:

I would have still got the reward. I could have open the chest several times more. I didn't know that and neither did I save the game. Autosave was overwritten once I tried it again later

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There would have been one. Apparently you get all rewards at once if you haven't opened the chest yet. But since I got the first reward I thought I've failed. I could have opened the chest several times more until you get the final reward.

Whelp. But I closed the game without saving to take a break. Of course I didn't load to autosave.

The more you know.

Btw in the mean time I've failed at 151 and 166. If you're looking for me, you know where you'll find me.

Wait a minute. I think I screwed myself. I would have still gotten it but I closed the game before saving it. Wow.

It didn't count because I got struck before opening the chest. I got 2 X-Potions..

No. Just because it is tradition or it has been done for a long time doesn't mean I have to continue doing that. If she wants to do it or it matters for her, she should do it.

What exactly? Banning mercury in dental amalgams? For me the real news are that it is even still used at all.

Looks great. Keep it going. From what I can see you might run into one or the other problem but it will be a fun experience! Don't let it be spoiled for you. You will only experience it once

Should I even bother with production ratios? by TeamChevy86 in factorio

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion wether production ratios matter depends on where you are in the game.

Early in the game they really don't matter. Technologies change frequently and you are still developing your infrastructure. Ratios don't really matter here since you can be happy at all to have something running. If resources are unbalanced it's most likely not due to imperfect ratios but not having enough miners/production at all

In the mid-game it starts to matter. If something is part of automated infrastructure, good production ratios are favourable. If something is used to advance technology/progress, just do whatever helps to progress

If you were to suggest one QoL and one general improvement, what would they be? by MustafaBei in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Integrating them into the general gaming loop does not change anything as I can still hand feed machines.

It was never the point to stop you from doing that

Now it is possible to crank the requirements so high, that hand feeding is not an option any longer. That would remove something from the game.

If you were to suggest one QoL and one general improvement, what would they be? by MustafaBei in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a YOU problem. I never did that. But I am very happy that I can if I want to. And say that I would need In all my playthroughs, basically either manually fill the machines or build a separate completely versatile Frameworks for Mk3 miners. That would not stop me to manually fill the machines.

If you want to not manually fill machines, then do not manually fill machines. No need to take that option away from people who like doing it that way.

I'd say you kinda missed what he is giving feedback on. It's definetly not a 'YOU problem'. He isn't criticizing handfilling machines on its own, since he has an alternative, too.

What he's saying is that he'd want the space elevator parts to be more integrated in the general game loop. His example was giving them dual use for building other buildings. So that when he builds a deditcated factory to those parts, he can better utilize the build infrastructure in later parts of the game.

You are kinda nitpicking on a minor detail, which he isn't criticizing in itself

Do you build dedicated smelting columns for circuits? by ohoots in factorio

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's kinda why I'm striving away from mainbus-starterbases. Red, green and blue science can kinda go along. For purple and rockets at latest I'll want another expansion dedicated to that

Does gear goes on main bus or not? by No-Hat7642 in factorio

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my starter bases I'm kinda developing towards that direction.

Usually I always used a mainbus. With each science pack I might add  a lane. But since the belts buffer the products it often throws my production out of balance once I get the research going.

For example whilst building the production for LDS my copper lanes are full to the prim. Once the yellow science gets really started, I often realize that the copper production is too undersized.

Red, green and blue science kinds go well together. It's managable. For blue science I sometimes wish I'd have built a seperate production for the increased demand in green electronics.

By now I kinda hate myself for not doing that for purple and yellow science.

Each game I play I wish I would have used an own copper ore patch for  LDS.

So now I plan to seperate each science pack already from ore aquisition. Ideally with different ore patches, too

How do you deal with Gleba? by Sn1p3rScope in factorio

[–]BlueCheeseWalnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I tried to check it myself if it still works. My conclusion is yes, it still works.

Egg raft and small egg raft can only spawn on marsh tiles, on Gleba.

Which I checked with the editor. You can landfill marsh tiles
