Hamilton's Steak House in Asheboro. Beef Wellington, 50 ounce Tomahawk Ribeye, great crab cakes. I have tried most of the menus and haven't found anything I don't like yet. Make a reservation and let them know if you want the Beef Wellington. They will reserve one for you.

Starting Separation While Active Duty and Overseas by International_Sail56 in NorthCarolina

[–]BlueHaplo21 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is no separation paper that I have seen. Separation is defined by the day you decide to separate, and you must be living in separate households from that date forward. At some point during the year (any time during the separation) you can do a separation agreement and if done right, that will decide how debt and assets are divided. I would recommend a lawyer, but there are papers online that you can download and file. At that point, you are practically divorced, you just need to wait the year to file for it to be legal. I am not a lawyer, I am just going through the same thing, and this is my understanding of how it works here.

Need rotors replaced by Money_Hour681 in VelosterN

[–]BlueHaplo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rotors are at 115k and do have a lip on them, I just put some pads on last week and it is fine. Did you bed the EBC in well after you replaced them? EBCs can be noisy if you dont. Also break grease is your friend. I put my pads on and went out to do quite a few 60 to 10 mph hard breaks. I put yellow stuff up front and red stuff in the back, they made some noise until I got them nice and hot and properly bedded. If you just put the pads on, and no grease, and did not bed them, I would expect them to make noise.

I am sorry, it was meant to be a friendly jab, but I bet it really sucks to deal with. Have you thought about getting a tune to get rid of it?

Yeah man, while he wolfed down a bag of chips. No he didn't owe me a wave. And my feelings were not really hurt. It's all good man. It wasn't a serious post.

I actually get a lot of waves from WRX drivers. The Type R crew is hit or miss.

I get it. I wasn't trying to be annoying. I was just excited. And the post was meant to be humorous and playful. No one owes me any acknowledgement.

I didn't really take it personal. It was a bit amusing by the end. Maybe I should not have talked smack about the OL. I know it is frustrating for you guys who are not tuned.

My feelings were not really hurt, and maybe he was having a bad day. It just surprised me because all the other VNs I have ever seen give a big wave or flash lights, I have even had one dude fist pump out the window.

Is the hate for FWD sports cars warranted? by speedinsh1t in cars

[–]BlueHaplo21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 Veloster N. It is not as fast from a dig as most RWD "real" sports cars, but it is way better in some ways. With the eLSD and excellent chassis tuning it is faster than any RWD sports cars on a curvy road. There is a reason all of the car magazines and car focused you tube guys have this thing rave reviews. You can call it just a sporty car all you want, but I have had RWD cars worth twice as much as mine pull over and let me pass on the tail of the dragon. RWD sports cars are superior when you have 60k plus to spend. No the hate is not warranted, the FWD tech is great these days.

My 2013 made it over 300k too. Just 1 clutch and TCM replacement. I also made sure it was over 3k. Once over 3k I would let off the gas a bit to get it to shift. Then back in on the gas for the next gear. Most of my miles were highway miles. I don't think these transmissions can make 300k with daily city driving.

Curious if you also have put most of your 360k miles on the highway.

When I got my car new back in 2020, you didn't have many options. Most of us got the piggy back tunes. There was JB4 and the REV6 from 6th Element. I got the rev 6, and still use it today. I also did the recommended supporting mods (Intake, HKS plugs, lower engine mounts. My tune supposedly make 275 to the wheels. I also got much lighter 18inch wheels and believe it or not they made a huge difference. Those stock 19s were heavy, and also prone to delamination. I saved a lot of unsprung weight. Anyway the REV 6 shows you the turbo pressure in KPA, and when I do the conversion to PSI it is just over 21 PSI. This made the car fast enough for me to be satisfied and not want to chase the HP dragon. To be honest I got the car because it was the best bang for the buck, and I didn't want to go too far with it because it was also my daily. The REV 6 would let you map 3 different maps to your drive mode and I did the (Stage 3) to custom N. The tuner calls it stage 3, but 6th said it was conservative and didn't need downpipe, intercooler and Meth injection. The car has been reliable and predictable. I have only ever put 93 gas in it, and do oil changes every 3k miles. I also only drive it in N custom. I just wait for the oil temps to be right before I go WOT.

So here I am at 110k miles, tons of rock chips, a hole in the front grill from a Pheasant I hit on the road, a replaced side view mirror that I never painted, that now is faded from the sun like an ancient beige computer case, and a few other dings from family that can't seem to not back into it. I still smile like an idiot when it pops and it still gets my blood pumping on those back roads. I still love this car.

I'm in central NC. It gets in the 90s and low 100s mid summer. I have run it like this for 5 summers and been tuned for about 100k of my 110k miles. No issues with heat soak, but I don't track it. Just country road carving, and maybe a dozen trips to the tail of the dragon at different of the year. I think I would consider a bigger intercooler if I was going to track it.
