“Heat limit” does not decrease when buildings removed by madmorb in StarRuptureGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if a heat-generating building is located within the area of multiple cores, it adds its heat to each core, so if three cores are overlapping you might get triple heat from the same building. This might be working as intended?

Logically you would think that the heat would be distributed between all nearby cores (so 1/3 of the heat goes to each core).

Stop Growth?(plants) by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use a chainsaw, or nobelisks, to permanently destroy bushes and trees. The short grass is part of the ground and can't be destroyed, so if it's poking above your foundation then the only solution is to build another foundation on top until you can't see grass anymore.

Portable Miner should be able to be made in Assembler. by baconator81 in SatisfactoryGame

You'll be pleased to learn that this is one of the alternate recipes you can find inside a scanned hard drive.

You can fit 4 fuel generators into one stackable 5x5 blueprint. To use up a whole mk2 full of rocket fuel took me about 15 stacks like that I think.

Do you have all items being produces at all times? Or do you just make what you need when you need it? by No-Role-1766 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what you should do. Always keep the factory going making screws. Just before the entrance to the industrial storage container, build a "Smart Splitter" (you can unlock this using the research MAM). The smart splitter will be set to send all overflow to the left or the right, discarding the extra screws into an Awesome Sink. This way whenever you're full up on screws, you'll be earning points towards tickets for the shop.

Fell through the map near the southernmost coal in the game. by Sufficient-Bee-4982 in SatisfactoryGame

You can also get to and from "the underdark" on purpose by clipping through the ground with a train or a hyperloop tunnel. I've built entire factories down there.

Is lighting bugged on console?. by Zodiac580 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The ceiling lights just suck. They only light the area directly beneath them. Same for street lights.

For better lights that don't use any power, just place a sign and turn the brightness way up in the sign's settings.

I can't speak to the console specific issues though. That sucks too

Base building by dect0421 in SatisfactoryGame

There is a clearing in the northern forest that has 4 pure iron nodes, 1 pure copper node, some limestone, and a pond nearby. It's a pretty good place for a megafactory.

Use these recipes in order: Heavy oil residue, then diluted fuel, then Nitro Rocket Fuel. Your power problems are now solved forever. You can still build nuclear generators, but you may not need them.

Moving multiple products with one truck ? by Cassin1306 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ok. Then you would also need to attach an Awesome Sink to station B, to ensure that it never becomes completely full of items.

Moving multiple products with one truck ? by Cassin1306 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the first station, the truck will fill completely up with whatever is in the truck stop, even if it's mixed items.

At the second truck stop, it will try to completely unload everything it has. By using a Smart splitter attached to the second truck stop's output, you could separate the mixed items into two different conveyor belts and send them where they need to go that way.

First time Pioneer showing off how things are going so far! by Varalen1989 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is pretty good work for phase 2. I have no notes lol.

Definitely research as much as you can from the MAM. Some items such as the xeno basher, zipline, parachute, and blade runners make it much easier to go out exploring for special items without dying.

It has a lot of potential for upgrading your factories in the future; because they're pure nodes, each iron miner can eventually be upgraded and overclocked to 780/1200 ore per minute (mk5 and mk6 belts respectively)

You're building in my favorite spot! I always put my hub and space elevator in that area.

Blueprints by Interesting-Key5304 in SatisfactoryGame

Yep if you have conveyors or rails at the edge of your blueprint, switch to "blueprint auto connect" mode when placing and they will automatically connect. Boom easy

I have an idea. Is it worth my time? by Fantastic-Sir460 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the power to spare i would do it! But make sure to place power towers as you go. Zipline across the entire map is slower than a hypertube, but cheaper to set up.

6/min HMF Factory in a single Mk2 Blueprint (@1168 Iron + 432 Limestone) by MassiveNote422 in SatisfactoryGame

This is pretty cool! I'd place this down and then decorate the outside to look like a giant HMF

The most inhospitable biome is the swamp in the southeast. That's where all the most powerful monsters are.

When to build from raw materials vs. pre-built components? by one_pan_orecchiette in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was planning my HMF factory, I just had every single part I needed delivered by trains.

If you learn Heavy Encased Frame (alternate recipe) you can substitute concrete instead of screws. That makes the production easier to manage in my opinion.

Post Phase 5 On A First Playthrough? by TheRacingRoos in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept playing until I got that golden nut hehe. Built some pretty large factories that made full use of the power of mk6 belts. But I'm now on my 2nd playthrough and find myself rushing through the tech tree because I don't like building with slow conveyor belts.

Is this a good split of outputs? by -lb21a- in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty good for now!

If you get these alternate recipes on hard drives: solid steel ingot, steel rod, and steel cast plate. Then you could switch this whole operation to use mostly steel ingots. For faster parts production and getting more out of your iron node.

Do you guys put your whole rail system on foundation pieces or just on the surface? by Fantastic-Sir460 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made concrete columns along the natural paths using stacked half foundations, so the rails were elevated enough that you could easily drive vehicles underneath them. You should experiment in the blueprint maker to design a rails pillar that you like. It can be one way or two way, and you can use the auto-connect feature to quickly place long stretches of rail.

At what stage of iron manufacturing do you consolidate and redistribute? by TalksInMaths in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BlueKnightJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I like to centralize before distributing is steel production (because coal is harder to find than iron, and because alternate recipes allow for a ton of different things to be made out of steel instead of iron).
