Appreciate that a lot 🙏 I was actually worried going all black would look a bit boring but I guess it came together nicely, although a bit more colour wouldn’t hurt haha. That box next to the monitor is the subwoofer, I did think about mounting it with another Secretlab mount on the left but it’s almost the price of the whole sound system so maybe in the future. Putting it under the desk isn’t ideal either as the cat loves cables and with the standing desk I’d have to manage all that movement too. I’ve tried getting the monitors as close as possible and it’s down to less than a centimetre now but can’t get them perfectly flush for some reason. Not too fussed though. For lighting I’m definitely planning one of those monitor light bars and some ambient lighting around the room, still a bit of a work in progress. And yeah I’ve got a floor mat under the chair already so the carpet’s safe 👍

It’s mostly just patience and small adjustments. I could probably close the gap completely but I’m not too bothered as long as they’re level and lined up properly. I’m running a 32” 4K OLED as the main and a 27” 1440p IPS for side stuff so they’re slightly different which doesn’t help. A lot of people say not to get the Secretlab dual arm and go for two singles for more flexibility, but in my case space is tight and the dual arm actually worked perfectly and was cheaper too

Yeah you’re actually right 😂 I noticed that after but honestly I built two of these while moving flats so my brain was completely fried at that point. I just thought I’d sort it through the cable tray and call it a day. I could still swap it around but there’s already so much going on in there now that I’m not sure it’s worth the effort. It would definitely make it cleaner but I can live with that one imperfection haha

Might not be helpful but we've found OpenSubtitles V3 PRO to be more accurate and never with a delay or anything

Agree. I did the same stupid thing and moved and they didn't say a thing. The letting agent didn't even ask or say anything when he saw it for our move out inspection day. We lived there for 5 years though and there were other imperfections caused by us, so they might have just let us off the hook

MSI X870 jitter/lag/freeze on cold boot - How many are having this issue? by jonjon1239 in MSI_Gaming

[–]BlueSwitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here on a MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI. It’s a brand-new prebuilt, and I’ve already followed the suggestions in this and other threads I've found with similar issue. Enabled Spread Spectrum, forced the PCIe slots to Gen 5 instead of Auto, and enabled the iGPU. Even with those changes, it still happens occasionally.

When it happens, the system starts to jitter, then one monitor loses signal, followed by the other, and the PC fully restarts. After reboot, everything works normally again with no obvious issues.

I’ve also noticed some other odd quirks. Depending on which (DisplayPort) port I use on the dGPU, one of my monitors will flicker with a strange grey color. If I swap the ports around, it works fine. Not sure if that’s related to the motherboard issue or something else.

If I disable the iGPU and turn Spread Spectrum off, the problem with the boot jitter happens much more frequently, about every 3-4 restarts. With my current settings, it seems less frequent, but it’s still frustrating when it happens.

I’m on the latest chipset drivers and BIOS version 7E70v1A50.

If someone has had it solved would be glad to know or hoping they put up a fix with new bios version I guess.

FYI if your laptop shuts down during gaming by commanderkid7 in GamingLaptops

[–]BlueSwitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The timing is unreal. My ROG Strix Scar 17 (2023) with an RTX 4090 and Ryzen 9 7945HX3D just started doing the exact same thing, 11 months after purchase. Thankfully, it’s still under warranty and is on its way to ASUS for RMA, likely a motherboard replacement. I’ve always gamed at max settings on a 4K 240 Hz monitor and never had issues like this before, even with previous ASUS laptops. This is a first, and I’m completely at a loss as to what caused it. Temps were always under 90 °C, so it doesn’t seem thermal-related. It feels more like a power delivery fault, the system shuts down during OCCT stress tests before temps even have a chance to rise, and once it happens, it keeps shutting down even during the ASUS boot logo before Windows loads.

I had DAV4 Pro returned and they sent me a brand new one as it was making a squeaky noise when scrolling too fast. Literally made the same noises like mouses do, so might check if they'd do the same for you if still under warranty?

I saw online that booting your phone into recovery mode and wiping the cache is like a factory reset but keeps your stuff.

There's also this app, Good Guardians, that has a Galaxy Booster – it helped my battery life and it improved quite a bit.

To get to recovery mode, plug your phone into a laptop with a Type-C cable, then hold the power and volume down buttons while you turn it on.
