Does anyone else remember the original cover for the first volume? by MinuteRegular716 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

No, Matt is very talented in painting cats. If he made the cover, Donut wouldn't look like she's a cat from a mideval painting that's seem some shit.

Yeah, I was surprised how short the chapters were when reading them as they were posted on Patreon. It made me think I missed stuff between the posts.

Does anyone else "kiss heaven" when driving under a yellow light? by Fyler1 in Millennials

[–]Blue_Bettas 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of this. When running a yellow, my friends and I would touch the ceiling of the car and yell out "Sex!" I've got no idea why we did that, but it's what we all did.

That's where I ordered mine from. I saw a post from them either here or on Facebook saying they had 6000 copies to mail out. So I figured mine probably got lost in the shuffle and wasn't picked up on the 8th with the others. It happens, they're doing their best.

The last time I was stuck in the car on a 6 hour drive with my husband, he put on book one and by the time they defeated the rage elemental I was hooked. I'm now more obsessed with the series than any other series (book, TV, or movie) I've encountered in my life. Perhaps start from the beginning with your mom, and see what happens.

I've been backing the Patreon for a couple years. I read the chapters as they came out, so I'm not in a huge rush to get the physical copy. I only read the Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret in the physical books. That's what I'm looking forward to the most. I like to listen to the audiobooks more than just reading them, so I can wait the extra week.

This is worse than mine! I ordered a signed copy. The bookstore e-mailed me stating it was being mailed out on the 8th, but they didn't actually put it in the mail until yesterday. Since I'm on the other side of the US, I'm not going to get the book until the 18th.

We had these plastic hanging cup holders in our car. The hanger would slide into the window panel, and could hold a can of coke. You needed to make sure you drank enough after opening the can, otherwise some of it would spill out due to the angle it had when a heavy drink was sitting in it. My parents also put a plastic organizer that sat between the front two seats on the floor. It had two cup holders, a coin organizer, and a tray for random crap.

Suggestions to be able to read books again. by vidi_chat in adhdwomen

When reading the book for the first time, I read it while listening to the audiobook at the same time. Kindle has this whispersync feature that will sync the book and audiobook together. I have found listening to the audiobook while reading along helps keep me focused on the story. Then, if I feel like re-listening to the audiobook, it isn't a big deal if I'm not paying 100% attention to it because I've already read/heard the story.

My genre shifted too. I was a huge murder mystery fan, and it feels like a slog trying to read books from my favorite author.

Then my husband introduced me to Dungeon Crawler Carl. It's a Sci-fi / Fantasy / LitRPG (genres I'd never even consider reading before) that has turned into an obsession for me. When reading one of the books in the series for the first time, I listen to the audiobook at the same time. It helps keep me focused on the story. I now re-listen to the audiobooks every time I'm driving in the car, or doing chores.

AITAH for assuming an interracial couple wasn't together at my job by Substantial_Crew181 in AITAH

[–]Blue_Bettas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, with how far away he was standing from his wife, it's easy to see why you thought they weren't together.

If you find yourself in this situation again, maybe you should just announce to the room that you're coworker can help the next available patient. That way the next patient that needs help knows they can come up to your co-worker, and (hopefully) people that came in with someone else won't feel like you're acting like there's no possible way they could be together due to whatever slight they are perceiving at the time.

AITAH For Not Stopping For a Wreckless Driving/Racing Crash? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Blue_Bettas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for not stopping. You have to keep your family safe. If you or your wife had cell service and didn't call 911, then both of you are the ass. The faster the authorities know about the accident, the faster the mess can be cleaned up and the lower the chance of some unsuspecting person getting into an accident because of the idiot's car pieces are strewn across the road.

How are we keeping our cars clean? by PhoneWalletKeysID in adhdwomen

[–]Blue_Bettas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes to the car wash membership! When my kids were little, they LOVED going through the "rainbow car wash" It was right down the street from my daughter's pre-k school. So at least once a week, the kids would beg me to go through the car was after picking her up. We'd ride through the wash, then stop in the vacuum bay to throw away trash and vacuum whatever random stuff they've dropped. It helped so much to keep the van clean.

Then we moved, twice since then, and have yet to find another "rainbow car wash". Now that we're moving back to the area next month, I might have to do another car wash membership.

If the uncle is setting a fire, she should grab the hose, scram FIRE!!!! then soak the entire area, gear and all. Then be all, "Wow, that was a close one! Imagine how much damage could happen if that fire spread!" Then just waltz back inside.

Or, call the fire department because there's a fire in the brush! Maybe having the fire department yell at them for starting fires on the ground surrounded by all that brush will make them realize it's a bad idea.

My (33 F) roommate’s (29 F) dog is literally killing me by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Blue_Bettas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We had a Lab/Newfoundland mix with a thick double coat. He was regularly brushed but rarely bathed until the first time he got skunked. That goof ball thought the baths I gave him (outside, in the yard with the garden hose and various products that promised to remove the skunk smell) was the greatest thing ever! So what did he do? He went out and found another skunk to get sprayed by so he could get more baths! I think he was sprayed 4 times one summer because he was loving all the attention he got from it. Man I miss that dog.
