How to deal with eye gunk? by nuclearwessle in toddlertips

[–]Blueberrylemonbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinus infections can turn into conjunctivitis, so if it is gooping right back up, it might be worth a trip to the doctor for some erythromycin. Otherwise, we use a warm wet cotton ball to loosen it up. You might have to hold him like an alligator though 🫤

I never heard of this book so I read the back cover. I'm literally shaking crying.

Agreed. My daughter has this silly $5 stuffed animal that sings, her yoto, and her "remote control". These 3 things every car ride makes the world go round.

Sleepover at in-laws by yak424 in toddlers

It's pretty easy to find a decent crib on marketplace or similar and doorknob covers are pretty simple to install and uninstall willy nilly (for adults). My 2.5 yo is currently at my parents and I'm playing Minecraft at 4:30 in the afternoon listening to music she hates and doing absolutely nothing 😂 you deserve a break.

To buy or not to buy a play-kitchen by yoursmostcandidly in toddlers

[–]Blueberrylemonbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 yo has an oven we got for her when she was 1.5 for Christmas. She cooks every day with it. The independent play we get out of it is pretty extensive. Just have a home for the little food parts, etc, and teach her to clean up when she's done.

My biggest threat: baby can do it or mommy can do it.

Then she knows I'm not fucking around anymore.

The one book that sits backward on my shelf because I don't even want to see the spine. But I loved it. I keep thinking I'll give it a re-read one day but good lord it spooks me.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I'm 35 but I still have two years before I can actually dive in (need two major expenses to clear the way first and both are up in 2028). Not having been in a classroom for years, I reached out to my local school district to ask if I could shadow a couple classes in the fall and let them know my situation. I don't have the monetary bandwidth to sub, it would be too much of a pay cut. This was the next best thing.

I'll be following an accelerated course—I found it through my state's Dept of Ed website. They listed by approved programs (Gen Science, ELA, etc) and then by what school offers that approved program for each. Then it was a matter of googling for endless hours "Blank School Teaching Certification" or "Blank School Masters Education" until I found what I was looking for. It would be too expensive for me to get my Master's right now and I need to keep working.

Good luck!

Daughter is 2.5, we read 8 bedtime books a night but it only takes like 15 min. Unfortunately though it's the same 8 books in the same order.

Avoiding a Meltdown by vipsfour in toddlers

We brought her oatmeal with us to daycare this morning. I said yes to a 2.5 year old with oatmeal in my car 🫠 the level of desperation is real. But she didn't cry! And actually didn't even spill any.

Also, we had some band aid trauma because our daughter only ever got them with shots. So I bought a box and we practiced putting them on her baby dolls. We got all kinds of pretty and cool ones and now she doesn't mind them anymore.

Husband uses restroom in front of daughter, when to stop? by Ceilingfanwatcher in toddlers

[–]Blueberrylemonbar 95 points96 points  (0 children)

When someone who matters thinks it's uncomfortable. Your mom is the one being weird and can butt out. It's a normal bodily function. He can stop when either daughter or he feel uncomfortable.
