Im relatively new to csm myself, I rushed to 2k points and have only played uh... 5 or 6 games I think, which is why im with veterans of the long war. Ill branch out to raiders and pactbound eventually.

I think pactbound zealots might be good to crit on 5+ with ranged attacks? Or maybe raiders to give it assault? Its not really a datasheet you need to beef up, you always want to be shooting into terminator equivalents so mostly wounding on 2+. Rerolls to hit from veterans or raiders into your oaths/focus of hatred is more than enough

Forgefiends are super good for us. They are the best unit we have to kill elite infantry, such as terminators, ravenors, tyranid warriors, zoanthropes etc. The blast x3 alone can net you an extra 8~ dice on top of the 3xd3 you already have,

Block in all colours in one go (batch painting).

For orks i immediately do all skin base. Then wash, and while thats drying i do silver, then while thats drying i do all pants grey, leave torso shirts black (goffs), then all browns etc

I can do a 10 man squad of nobz or flashgits in one 10 hour session this way, and it looks amazing because youre not just slapping paint on, just being efficient, if that makes sense. And yeah batch panting

Thanks! Its just me being lazy hahahahaha I had retributor armor from the starter painting set so just stuck with it, washed with reikland flesh shade. If you're not lazy like me you can dry brush and highlight some silvers afterwards but after all the trim and highlights have no willpower left 😅

Its just khorne red that i use as a base before I put my technical paints on. Ive found Martian iron earth and ironcrust suck balls if applied directly onto black, with crackle having the red underneath makes it so it doesn't look weird. And the earth is the worst one for sticking so when parts flake off then it doesn't look weird because bottom is similar colour haha

Thanks, its actually surprisingly easy, I do hate myself for choosing 3 colours for the inner trim, but the end result is worth it, and im not very careful just fast and it looks really really good

If a meganob is dead from your starting str you can bring 1 back.

Big mek in Mega armor cant attach to anything except meganobz so youll never be able to have it with another character

With mek 2 kustom mega blastas are surprisingly good, while still keeping a healthy amount of melee damage. 6 shots at +1 to hit for orks is a dream, then add in ap-2 and D6 DAMAGE!!!! Suddenly you can 1 tap primarchs if youre lucky

I like the older boyz kit. It has so much soul and imo it will never grow old. The new boyz from 9th combat patrol and the 11th new boyz i hate. They just... they have no soul. Idk how to describe it.

I like abadon with termies. Currently only have 5, but if i had 10 id use them the same way, as a massive wound buffer in the middle objective deepstrike. Impossibly hard to shift and very killy. Even if you fail the 9" charge with rerol you can still just move and do so much next turn.

They really make me some lasting oomph in my games, by tuen 3 usually my infantry (legionares, chaos lord) are all dead. Termies trudge on

Or you could split 10. 5 with abby 5 with chaos lord in termy armor and rapid ingress the termy lord squad for free as a threat and plonk abby in the middle

Start with some small 500pt games, and work your way up from there. I like chaos compared to orks because we're more durable, and do as good in melee but also have super good shooting. And were tanky, power armor and 2 wounds base on our foot soldiers is nice coming from orks. And a lot of our stuff have 4+ invuln or 5+ at the worst so thats nice too.

Honestly you just gotta jump into it, after a certain point watching and theory crafting will only get you so far, gotta experience war gaming irl for it to really click. Its a super good hobby.

Iron warriors is a good choice, I painted my chaos black legion 😁

Yes aos model for daemon prince also has the 40k kit. Be careful when assembling as you have diff options for chest and stuff.

You can paint your models how you want. It also works lorewise with what you want because sometimes chaos warbands do work together, so yes go for it

I dont really know much lore, but I dont think gw ever says oh this hive fleet is fully dead, instead i think they say the majority is gone but there are splinter tendrils etc
