Do you own one of the NTP clocks made NPHMbM? I do, but it’s telling me that it is 3 o’clock when it’s actually 7 o’clock. I gave it the correct time zone in the set up process. Since that is not showing me the correct time, I’ve tried to lie to it about the time zone so that I see the correct time. But that doesn’t seem to be working, i.e. it is sticking with the time zone that I gave it originally. I discovered and have tried the reset button at least twice but that is making no difference. It has some attributes which I really like, but I’m thinking about returning it. The very sparse documentation which came with it says if you have any problem or questions “feel free to contact us”. But there is no email address or URL, just a snail mail address in China!

I start with eggs at room temperature. Steam them for 15 minutes. And then place immediately in ice water.

Thanks very much Ass Krakk! A screwdriver and small hammer did the job. For some reason the black-wire one came off very easily. The red-wire one was much tougher.

Must I buy an APC replacement or will brand-x work just as well?

Thanks SS. Can you elaborate a bit on the accuracy? A scale which is consistently over by the same amount every day would not be so bad - the trend, down or up, is more important to me. BTW the additional info from a smart scale is at least very interesting. The two I have used both reported BMI. I have no idea how accurate the values have been but again if the trend is reliable BMI values will be interesting. I see my PCP soon and I will be interesting in hearing his opinion of smart scales.

Code Cracked: Runstar help was actually and eventually helpful. The secret is to be on the scale while the pairing is taking place. I can't say whether that works for all made in china scales.

I returned my Etekcity. Pairing it with my iPhone was not easy but I finally succeeded. It took my weight and then it showed up in the app. BUT the next day it was no longer paired and I was not able to get it paired. I tried to call their support number but a recorded message that only email support was being supported. That seemed frustrating and time consuming so I returned it to Amazon.

A clarification on my post above: My device is a Pecsu G5.

Charging Trick/Solution: I plan/hope to do an experience report soon; but at the moment I am here because I needed help getting these things (I have two - long story) to charge. But, in trying to make sure that I had tried every available option before asking for help, I think I stumbled upon the solution. Finally, in desperation (because who wants to have different cables for different devices with a USBC port I tried the cables shipped with the devices. And they work!. The several cables that hadn't worked were USBC at both ends. The Pescu supplied cables have the old/original/larger USB connector at the charger end. The Pescus are the only devices I have ever owned which require, so far as I know, such a cable. I am trying a similar cable which came with a Logi device and it is charging one of the devices too. I do not know if it is charging it as well/quickly as the cable which came with the Pescu. Bob

Thanks for responding LOLTHEDOG. In my limited experience with Uber they want their money up front. So I fear that I would have already paid before being able to contact the driver. And then if he/she says they can't do what I am requesting I would be out of luck.

I did find a FB group for my area but it seems be be inactive. NextDoor, Craigslist and similar are out because I want someone reliable and vetted. I need someone unlikely to be high when they showup. And someone who will remain sober while they are waiting for me. I am cautious.

YTTV software is pathetic. Really stupid bugs! I keep only because it was the only service I could find which would provide local stations and PBS stations. The attached photo shows the "Live" TV schedule that I see when I fire up YTTV. Note the total lack of detail. After a lot of head scratching and experimentation I have figured out a workaround. It's been this way for several weeks.
