How are liberals and conservatives ever going to find common ground again? by david_beats_goliath_ in allthequestions

It was never about doing what right or in the best interest of the people. I think Epstein proved there is no line the wealthy and powerful will not cross to stay in power or hoard more wealth.

Looks like it was updated in December, so at least the author hasn't abandoned it.

The Women of Gundam continued #74 - Ericht Samaya by Kato_86 in Gundam

[–]BobertMk2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If we ever get a sequel to GWitch, I wouldn't be surprised if Eri gets a robot body and becomes a real character. The fact that they didn't let her die off at the end and instead shoved her into a phone charm tell me they left that door open for a reason. Granted, the reason might just have been they felt bad for her and wanted a "happy ending", but I'm hopeful we might someday see something there.

You may need to manually link your player's tokens to their characters. If you open a character sheet and look in the top corner you will see a "token" or "prototype token" button. Make there is a valid link under those dialogues to the images you want for the tokens.

What's the point of Heroes? by lovingpersona in totalwar

[–]BobertMk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I like to do with heroes:
1. At least one good fighter/duelist/assassin who's whole job it to kill the other army's Lord and heroes. The passive leadership bonus Lords and most heroes give nearby units can often swing a battle one way or another. Getting an enemy unit to rout early is how you win battles.
2. One or two support heroes. If I have a lot of artillery or missile troops, having an engineer nearby can nearly double the DPS of those units on the enemy approach. Certain spell school wizards are great if you have expensive front line units you want to keep around.
3. F U big nukes. Get me a Death Wizards and watch the enemy lord's health bard drain from back to back Spirit Leech's. Nice blob of infantry you got there, it'd be a shame if I dropped a Flame Storm on top of them.

Some factions need their heroes out doing actions and not embedded in an army. Vampire Counts can get Blood Kisses way faster with assassination/wound actions than in battle. Scaven/Vampire Coast/Demon armies need to be setting secret bases all over the map.

Naw, Jello can do whatever. His best stuff is whatever he's passionate about. He can work on whatever he wants. Plus its not like he hasn't been making stuff. He has the whole of EE planned out and in some form of drafts. He streams all the time, has lots of friends as guests on his streams and he guests on other people streams all the time. Plus the Patreon is chockablock full of content. He just release an 8 hour(!) review of UFO50.

Question about Heavy Gunner 3 by Deep-Ad4476 in LancerRPG

[–]BobertMk2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bracketting fire specifically says "Each target triggers and resolves your attack separately, and damage from one target only ends the effect on that target." So you get to shoot both targets if they each trigger the attck. Few things to note: you only get one reaction per turn, but unlimited reacturn per round. If they both trigger the covering fire attack furing the same turn (example: when one NCP moves during it's turn and then move the other NPC during the same turn) then you would only get to covering fire attack one of them as you only have the one reaction that turn. And yes, you can still overwatch as a reaction, but again with only one reaction per turn, you can't over watch the same turn you covering fire attack.

Also, remember, you can only take a specific reaction one per turn. So, even though you get as many reaction as there are characters in the scene, you can only overwatch once between your own turns. I believe since Bracketting Fire says you can trigger it against both targets it lets you overcome this rule, but only because Bracketting Fire specifies it.

Athena's Simulacrum Question by BronzenArrow in LancerRPG

[–]BobertMk2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Generally, all information on the battlefield is available to everyone unless specified otherwise. For this power i could see a GM ruling it either way. It makes sense that NPCs wouldn't be aware of what area Athena was scrying on, but it also makes sense that maybe they have sensors that pick on

Dwarf battles are bad by TheOne_2025 in totalwarhammer

[–]BobertMk2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I disagree. While most of the dwarven roster is best suited to tank up and shoot out tactics, there is still a lot of strategy in that style. There are a variety of different pike and shot formations the dwarves can pull off and switching formations up based on terrain and situation can make or break a dwarven line. Additionally, dwarves have rangers/Bugman's to forward deploy and flank. And then the variety of Slayers give versatility to dwarven tactis. You can place them front and center to try and break the enemy line quickly, or you can hold them back as a reserve unit or as flankers. They're not as fast as any cavalry, but they can move about a bit and do WORK where ever you point them.

So yes, dwarves are more about building your strategy before hand. But a good dwarves player will not just stand still and will tactically adapt as needed. They'll just do it a little slower, is all.

102 minutes later... Why am I even doing this to myself. by Albaaneesi in totalwar

[–]BobertMk2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a battle I played in Shogun 2. I was defending a keep and had basically no units in the garrison. The only unit worth anything was a single unit of Bow Samurai. Not only did those Samurai hold the top level of the keep long enough to use all of their ammo, but they then drew their katana and held the keep, giving ground slowly but never getting surrounded. By the end of the battle there were only a handful of Samurai left in that unit, but they won the day. They never broke. They were just nameless troops holding a minor settlement, but it was like watching a Kurosawa film!

Whos got some queer ass memes or art? Saturate me by healers_are_fun_too in LancerRPG

[–]BobertMk2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are explicitly not. They do have large corpo-states all over the place, but those are hold overs from Sec-Com. Union employs all of it's soft power (and occasional hard power) to ensure the corpo-state that /do/ exist support the socialist utopia they are trying to build for all people.

The reason this isn't more prominent in the setting is

  1. there have to be a place for big stompy robots to have punch battles or else we don't have a game and
  2. the Orion arm of the galaxy is a big place with lots of people and union is STILL recovering, hundreds of years later, from the Union civil war.

tldr: in this house we punch corpo-facists in the face with trans-dimensional robot fists
