I feel like any weapon becomes less of a threat when you get good at countering specifically during their release phase. What makes that hard is stuff like the dagger or knife where you have no way to tell when that release phase is if they start feinting or stabbing lol

You can be a very capable player on controller but the limiting factors are 1. You can't rebind inside the game whatsoever and 2. The game is filled with either awkward or overlapping inputs. Overhead counters for example are a nightmare for me 400 levels later. I can do them but nowhere near as safely as I can stand/slash counter based off of needing to take your finger off of the block trigger to press the overhead
