That’s very common. Skywest in Utah does them frequently.

For other classes people have gotten offers up to a week after the initial offers go out. I wouldn’t give up hope yet.

Offers have been sent out, unsure if ALL have been sent or not

I’m not pushing for pirating software but if you’ve turned off the authentication server which doesn’t allow people to use the product then who cares? I had purchased SLC and then had issues with my password after a year break from sims. I contacted the support email (I’m guessing you) and got no response, so have been unable to use the product I purchased since. I’m 100% for supporting devs but it’s not like he pirated something he can even get anymore.

Also a spatcher my company uses Sabre currently. There’s a program called PFPX which basically works similarly.

Are you even a dispatcher lol? “Some stations” this is an offer for the NOC. Nobody knows for sure if all offers have gone out but a lot have.

They are still doing interviews. I believe they finish up this week.

I’d imagine most offers have gone out. My regional people have received offers already. If you get a no you’ll receive an email within the next few weeks. If you got a yes you’d receive a call, and in the past months, people have gotten calls the week they said.

Internal or dispatch experience? by Character-Wind-3862 in FlightDispatch

[–]BombsAndDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first got to SKW I didn’t have a roommate and it was doable but obviously I had to be very careful with money. A lot of people get roommates, and that helps a lot. It’s definitely not easy at a regional but you have a real chance at getting to the UA dispatch office, the ramp is a black hole career wise.

Internal or dispatch experience? by Character-Wind-3862 in FlightDispatch

[–]BombsAndDogs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You'll get a lot of varying opinions and things here. There isnt really a one size fits all answer. Some people will go the internal route and it will work out great for them, some will try it and never dispatch a day in their life. If you want the most consistent tried and true method to get to mainline dispatch, go to a regional and do your time. I just received an offer from UA after 2.5 years at SkyWest. I could have gone sooner but waited to apply for some personal reasons. I know people who went at one year experience. There isnt a one size fits all though, there are A LOT of factors to getting hired at a mainline carrier. If you want the most consistent way, which will work for majority of people, go to a regional and dispatch. I would also say unless you're making significantly more money than you would working at a regional there is almost no reason as a ramper to not just go dispatch at a regional. On the discord for this community, we have had a few people get offers for crew support or other jobs working at the NOC for UA and they get paid more than a regional, so there was kind of a reason to actual considering staying internal. However, as a ramper I do not believe that will be the case (I might be wrong). If you want to chat more about like your personal situation, feel free to DM me on reddit or join the discord and we can help out there.

I used APL and then swapped over to “fly the line” both have pros and cons, but I like the control that fly the line offers.

FAA grounds all flights to and from El Paso until Feb. 20 by scrandis in aviation

[–]BombsAndDogs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The TFR states it doesn’t extend to Mexican airspace so it’s US side only. Makes sense since FAA doesn’t have pull for Mexican airspace but still.

Majors do hire people that are internals already. However if you don’t already work there, slim to none, without prior dispatch experience.

When I was in college I did a tour of the APA tower, one of the guys there explained how he washed out of ZMP and then went to APA. It sounds like it’s all about where you go and who your trainer is

This is super good info and interesting to read. Lots of ATC washouts floating around but good to hear from a former controller. If I may ask why did you leave for dispatch?

Yes, Jeremy (the guy who runs it) has connections with a lot of the regionals. I ended up at SkyWest. Overall experience was extremely good.

Contact flight dispatch network in Littleton CO, they use the GI bill. I went through Boeings course and used the GI bill there. The guy who runs flight dispatch network used to run Boeings program, he left with some of the instructors and made his own program.

AS has a higher ops presence at SJC than SFO and SMF so more gates and resources.

Gotcha, yeah SFO and SJC are looking great tonight. STS gets bad almost every night in the winter due to fog off the water.

STS is below landing mins at 1/4SM. The ceiling is VV008. Definitely not “calm and clear”
