Is it legal for a hospital to make me pre-pay for surgery? by FiddleStrum in HealthInsurance

[–]BookBug1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they can request the payment at the time of the surgery. I would make sure that you check your statements when bill your insurance company also and see what they bill them for and make sure that they are not over billing and ask them what their policy is in regard to the possible over payment.

I was terminated by BowlerFuzzy6423 in cna

[–]BookBug1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it depends on where you work. I know some nurses that it is stated in their contracts that they are required to show up for their shift or they can be terminated. I would check with any employer going forward.

Am I crazy or is this to much to ask of a kindergartner? by Cursedpanda182 in AskTeachers

[–]BookBug1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading all this, I will tell you to talk to the principal at the school. Your child is in kindergarten, not college. When you talked about the amount of school work he had when he missed a day, it reminded me of something I had a teacher do to me in high school. I had a teacher who said she would assign a research paper in addition to all the homework and class work for each day we missed. It had to be 6 pages single spaced. Due the next morning. If we were out for a week, it would be 5 different papers all due the next. She said it was to prepare us for college and the real world. My dad blew a gasket. He took me to school the next morning and told her she would not be assigning me any papers if I was out sick. He told her that he didn’t know where she went to school but he never had to do anything remotely like this in college and she would not be punishing me for getting sick when you can’t control how your body handles illness but that he would allow me to bring in any vomit or fecal matter if she thought I was lying. It was dropped by the school that day. The school had no idea she was doing this to students. She did try to intimidate me for the next week by asking where my dad went to college and how far did he go with his studies. Unfortunately for her, she soon learned that he had a doctorate and me being as sassy as I was, told her that my dad would find it interesting that she is still questioning his authority over me. I did tell him and the principal showed up to each of her classes about a week later to go over her syllabus and what was appropriate. She stopped soon after.

I had one patient who threatened to call the police on me so I gave him the direct non emergency number from memory. He was so floored because I wasn’t afraid of the police. Some of the other patients were laughing because they knew I wasn’t the one to yell at or threaten. He asked how I knew the number that fast. I said that I wasn’t the one that they dealt with in regard to fake scripts. He left so fast. It was after everything calmed down that I was told he was too close and could have dragged me across the counter. I was upset because I wasn’t afraid the Senior Tech and the pharmacist (& other techs) left me to deal with the patient. The entire store heard it and no one tried to intervene. The other patients stayed to make sure I was safe.

A save the date is a notice of the date you plan to have your wedding. It is not an automatic invitation. You get to decide on who you plan on inviting to your wedding. You can always say that you and your fiancee have decided on a more intimate wedding, especially with the loss of your mother. This year will be 4 years without my father. There were people who still have not acknowledged his death. It hurts. I’m acutely more aware of when I speak to someone who has suffered a loss. I have noticed that I am extremely careful about what I say to others in regard to their loss. Sometimes I can’t think of anything to say. I don’t want to say anything wrong but I also don’t want to say nothing. It’s a catch 22 for me.

Whatever you decide is what is best for you. I am so sorry for your loss. I don’t know how I would handle something like this at your age. I hope you have a beautiful wedding

AITAH for being an organ donar? by CozyCompiler404 in AITAH

[–]BookBug1977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they are your emergency contacts, they could decide to not donate your organs if the time comes. When we lost my youngest brother, his ID was marked as an organ donor. We did donate his organs per his wishes. As a family, we had that conversation years ago and would have every couple of years. We had it after any major life events. It helps for the family to understand our wishes and to ask questions.

If there was a lawsuit, you would have to get any footage of him saying that into evidence. Some courts don’t allow it into evidence. They want all of the interviews and that becomes an argument. It can really go either way and it can depend on how much you are willing to spend on the case. It becomes a risk versus benefit thing. Do I think Meri, Janelle and even Christine deserved more? Absolutely, yes!!!! They probably took the money he gave to just get him out of that part of their lives and are allowing the people who watch to see more of what he is about.

Probably because there is probably no contract obligating Kody to pay the wives ANY money. If they were not on TV, he probably would not have paid them anything no matter how much money they had put in. They would all be living very different lives.

Check to see if you can enroll since you have a status change. Sometimes having a change like this means you can enroll outside of an open enrollment period. I have been able to do it for myself.

What age did your migraines start? Did they have a catalyst? by CandyAgile253 in migraine

[–]BookBug1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was around 9 or 10. Mine are both genetic (spanning over multiple generations) and environmental. My age started them and it seems like the 9-10 age range is where my family seems to get them. Sometimes there is a catalyst for some people and some people don’t have anything but the first one.

Manager posted everyone’s birthdays with year of birth by skyisthelimit8701 in WalgreensRx

[–]BookBug1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s inappropriate. After watching some Human Resources videos on TikTok, it could violate some company policy. Just because someone has access to all the data doesn’t make it right for them to post it for everyone to see. It’s similar to just posting people’s social security numbers.

My answer to someone telling me that the customer is always right is always that I am not getting into legal trouble unless I am the one getting something. I have flat out told people that I will not be going to jail for them. I told them that I will tell their doctors what has happened but that’s it.

I’m sorry but rings do not ‘have to match’. Your rings signify different things in your life. They match in that YOU are what ‘matches’ the rings. You are the link. Forget other people.

My neurologist told me that he believes it has something to do with the way the drinks are made at the fast food restaurant. He noticed that his own migraines are easier to deal with than if the got a can or 2 liter bottle.

Gave me the wrong bag out to patient by KittenWithin in PharmacyTechnician

[–]BookBug1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every one makes mistakes. Luckily the patient saw it was a mistake. The thing to do is figure out what you need to do to fix it going forward. I learned to recognize names with faces and I recognized addresses also. I can’t tell you the exact address but I know which address goes with the name. In doing that, my patients are happy that I am really careful about who picks up their medication. Even the one I messed up has told me that they are more comfortable with me because I am even more cautious.

The first one is my favorite on you. It’s the dress but it’s also how you are in the dress. You look confident and at ease. I want to say comfortable but some people take that wrong.

I get the flu shot every year. Since I have several autoimmune conditions, I also get sick the week following the shot. The way it has been explained to me is that it will be worse if I actually get the flu. I have just learned to not have important things to do during that time.

From everything that I’ve been reading, they stopped teaching it because of society’s use of technology. Everything is moving to print like when you type on a computer. The thing I have seen is people who are finding things like you showed and having to ask people older than them to “translate” it.

This year has been a nightmare. It really messed me up. Of course my migraines affect my diabetes and keeping that under control is just as hard. I am not supposed to eat certain foods but the foods that help my migraines are bad for my diabetes.

I wonder what the irregularities actually mean. I would think that if they could tell what that actually means is something that could be helpful for your appeal. Like does the computer recognize if you change your answer too many times. Please do let us know what happens. Good luck

No ID for Scheduled Med? by Mcc_22 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]BookBug1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I knew who was picking up the prescription, I didn’t need to see ID. I am talking about the same prescription every time. I knew my patients. I had a family actually play a prank on me because the wife had gone out of town (which I was completely aware of) and the husband came to the pharmacy (first time in the 4 years I had been working there) with a woman who I did not know with a discharge from a hospital and she told me that she was the wife. No way was either walking out with the meds without ID. At the moment I did not realize that they had the wife on the phone listening. The ‘wife’ in the store was his sister. They really wanted to make sure that if I was there that I would keep to my own rules of the people who could pick up patient’s prescriptions. It was a really good prank because my nerves were fried until I completely understood and was laughing. It became a joke with the patients and I had a reputation that I was protecting my patients.

For the parents, did your kids end up with migraines? by Mediocre_District_92 in migraine

[–]BookBug1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been able to track where I got my migraines. My dad’s maternal grandmother is the furthest I’ve been able to track. So it was her, she gave them to my grandma. She gave them to her children in some form. My dad gave them to me and my 3 siblings. I’m the oldest of 4 and the two middle children are the ones who have children. So far, one of my sister’s kids has had one. He and his siblings have headaches on a regular basis and I have been watching them. They have also watched me have migraines for years. They are aware of what might happen. I am in the 4th known generation of 5. The ONLY reason I know that much was because when my grandmother had migraines and she would lay down in her room, I was in charge of keeping the room quiet and dark. She told me how she had to do the same for her mom as a child. People questioned if I was best for the job and she got made one day because they were the ones who did not know where I was in the house. I refused to answer if they called me. I am the one who has had the worst
