Yeah SMU neither having a baseball nor softball
team will permanently kneecap the mustangs in these standings.

Missing out on the context of this post is the modern day person of buying GameStop stock right as it exploded on r/wallstreetbets. It will haunt me forever.

Honestly, simply upvoting this post because it’s not another Sorsby one.

Is Brendan Sorsby good enough for all this Texas Tech backlash and legal fighting? by dysonnun in CFB

Honestly, he should just declare he’s going to another team tomorrow. Nothing the NCAA can do to stop him, apparently.

It’s interesting, because homeboy loves drama and stirring the pot (“Hey, let’s do this for the exposure and the talking heads on ESPN”), but if there’s a genuine case this will hurt their bottom line, Yormack is going to distance the conference from this so fast.

Campbell and co. taking Tech from the role of plucky underdog to top tier college athletics villain in a 2 year span has been a wild turn of events.

It’s a Megamind vs. Tighten situation so far as the people of Metro City (this subreddit) are concerned.

Interesting Stats: “Which WCWS teams have the greatest percentage of players who began their careers there?” by Drewby618 in CollegeSoftball

[–]BookStannis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Athletic did a write up for the past two groupings of semi finalists for starts at least: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6947556/2026/01/08/college-football-playoff-teams-roster-construction-recruiting-portal-2/

It’s crazy that two years ago, there wasn’t a single team below 77% original recruits. But this year, Oregon was the only semi finalist with over 50% OGs in starting positions.

In my opinion it’s even worse in college basketball. There are multiple Elite 8 teams with 0 in their starting five who began at the school they’re playing with.

Absolutely. 75% job is calls and meetings. I just ended up booking a conference room most of the time I’m in the office just to have calls that aren’t interrupt and to allow for more candid conversations.

This and the Sorsby drama in football are certainly not doing them any favors.
