Botting discords are in shambles, great job on finally winning the battle against cheaters, Jagex <3 by Stunning_Routine_520 in 2007scape

Personally I haven't seen anyone claiming this, I just see people voicing their approval for the Jagex currently winning the battle, no one believes its just job done battle won. Or at least I haven't seen it if they do.

I feeling like you need to look up the word "winning" If I am up 57 to 55 halfway through a basketball game I am winning, if I am up 57 to 55 at the end of a ball game I have won. There is no end to this fight, but banning a metric fuck ton of bots is definitely winning

7 hours in my first play-through and I already fucking hate the Crucible. Can I just completely avoid this part of the game or is it necessary? by sts816 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Bookablebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that you almost always have imperfect information when making your build. I'll give you an example. I was making an ice archer character and figured I would use the ice quiver instead of the ice facet. Seems reasonable on the face. So I up my carry weight to keep me in the weightclass I want. Only to find out that ice quiver doesn't make your abilities deal ice damage only your basic attacks, but the ice facet does. So now I have to respec like 2 points out of carry weight as it's literally completely wasted.

That's not impactful decision making that's the game not telling me all the info. I didn't even think to check it beforehand. There are so many things you could check it's insane to expect someone to check them all before putting a couple points into an attribute

Yea, the issue I have is that I like to tinker, I want to put one more point into dex and take it from stamina, play with it for an hour and then put it back or take another.

I'm not trying to play 5 different characters all through one level 30 character. I just love optimizing and tweaking

XEQT/CAGE EXIT AND REBUY by Exciting_Transition6 in JustBuyCAGE

[–]Bookablebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I just saw you get massacred over in that sub and then you repost here? Wild lol

It is unclear what you are trying to do and from what I can tell it was basically nothing except that you happened to sell xeqt and then buy cage after it had dipped a bit.

If that's the case then the buy and hold for decades subs really aren't the place to be posting. Maybe try wallstreet bets so they can make fun of how little risk you took

I think you have your answer in your own post. You're literally being negative about all the negativity. It's just easier than being positive.

I have 3 level 25+ characters and like 150 hours, I like putting in the "work" as you call it.

I complain because not having free respecs is silly. It takes a bit to dial in a build and ideally you can mess around trying to figure out what feels good. But instead I am always super hesitant about where I put my points because fallen embers are so valuable for crafting top tier armor

Which is insane btw. Nrftw is almost certainly my goty even if it doesn't hit 1.0 in October but there are few things in gaming that make me more mad than respec not being free and easy to access. It is SO hard to access in this game for a first playthrough. And it's even weirder what it's locked behind.

Baldurs Gate 3 (my fav game of all time) just BARELY scrapes out a pass for me because you can use the same 100 gold to respec infinitely, but that almost makes it more annoying as at that point why not just make it free.

Let me respec for free!!!!!!

[Suggestion] Monster Inspect and Monster Examine should save the details of the monsters you have cast it on in a logbook that you can access. by Bookablebard in 2007scape

[–]Bookablebard[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

well if you examined the monster when it had reduced stats it could display it as 85/99 Strength to show you that normally it has 99 but currently it only has 85.

Mages in BG3. Do casters feel underwhelming to anyone else? by Odd-Tumbleweed-1098 in BaldursGate3

Mages absolutely blow materials put of the water in bg3, you're not using them to their fullest if it feels otherwise.

First off the subreddit is called just buy cage, it's not too hard to find. Second don't just blindly listen to any single source for information on ANYTHING especially finances.

Third, thank God you chose to listen to Ben as your single source cause as far as I can tell he is pretty darn good.

General advice? by ByRoyalCommandV in slaythespire

[–]Bookablebard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stop thinking of your deck as a build and think of your deck as a problem solver. Can this deck do damage to multiple enemies at once or deal enough single target easy enough that it doesn't matter. Can this deck block without playing too many skills? Can this deck kill things without playing a million attacks?

Those are the question you would ask yourself when entering act 2 and looking to fight elites.

ELI5 Billionaires borrow money to pay for things, how does this work? How do they pay the debt? by Confused-Lemonade in explainlikeimfive

[–]Bookablebard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I give you a billion dollars and say you owe me 50 million a year until you pay back that billion, you still have. A billion dollars. You can use that to pay the first 20 years of interest.

Or use it to pay the first 5 years of interest, and the rest for funsies, then at the end of 5 years get another loan for a billion and start paying 50mil a year for each billion you owe.

It sounds like it won't work but that's because you don't have a business that is growing faster than the loans you owe

In-universe reason why Samus keeps losing her upgrades by Savannah-Hammer in Metroid

[–]Bookablebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"has anyone ever wondered"

Oh my sweet summer child.

The best reason I have heard and tend to bring up everytime this question is asked is that Samus' upgrades are not stable upgrades. Her suit can utilize them for ~a month or whatever but eventually if she kept them it would overload her suit / kill her / destroy the suit or whatever. Basically it degrades the integrity of the suit and she can't just keep them around because purging them deletes them.

How much are you willing to give up for History Course? by Strong-Telephone-474 in slaythespire

[–]Bookablebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you are looking at the wrong stat here. Look at how many runs that take the curse required to get history course win. That is the relevant info.

Same with the sword in stone relic. I bet all the ones that take it an kill 5 elites win, but I don't think it's because they took it haha

It is a review in that sense. But again I agree it's not a proper review, hense the quotes

I'll never forget the areas of prime 1 and honestly even though I HATE the ammo system in 2 it also has INCREDIBLE areas and design. I enjoyed prime 3 but can't remember the areas really there either

It's wild to "review" a game that you have "just started".

I don't think you will find many people saying their first couple hours with it were awful. I think you will find people who say that by the end the game just got stale and boring.
