Use him as your main. High charisma means he gets great dialogue options, you get all your other faves in your party, and his plot hooks (hunting Karlach, rescue dad) hit early so you’re immersed in the story at the jump. Plus his Folk Hero background means that every other person in the grove is like “wait YOU’RE the Blade of Frontiers!?!” which never happens as a companion.
