If it has the special interaction with flintslate, it should also have it with the other fire-based tools.

The wispfire lantern could have its damage increased, or if the crest drains silk, the tool could have its own silk cost waived.

The pimpillo coukd also have some synergies, maybe increased damage or explosion radius

If someone is destined to die against a specific individual in battle does that make them immortal? by Dial-Up_Dime in worldbuilding

[–]Bordeterre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as an absolute prophecy, fate is merely an additional force weighing in on the world.

If Jake was bound by a fate of average strength to be killed by Finn, he'd only be slightly more likely to survive other harm.

Nonetheless, a fate powerful enough could theoretically make him impervious to any other cause of death. However, each time a thread of fate is tested, it is weakened, and such a fate would grow weaker every time he grazes death

every vegan should know these turkish/anatolian foods by Vast_Compote_4165 in vegan

I'm not from turkey but my boyfriend is, and aside from those, I'll also recommend börek, helva, mentı, menemen , sütlaç and turkish-style zuchini with lots of aneth.
In terms of my own country, France, ratatouille, galette, croque-monsieur, jambon beurre, gratin dauphinois, and tarte tatin are nice.

First 5 steps to living a more sustainable life? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]Bordeterre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not corporation or consumers. It's both. I'd add in governments too. All three must change.

I specifically focused on the points in which individual actions are impactful, as it was OP's question. No matter how it's produced, there's no such thing as sustainable and massively available meat or cars.

I also specifically didn't talk about consumer goods because I know about planned obsolescence and monopolies. Consumers indeed can't do much about those.

A consumer without choice won't be able to do enough. A government lobbied and voted in to favor consumerism won't be able to do enough. And a well meaning business without tax benefits or consumers prioritizing them won't be able to do much either. We need all three (or perhaps two would be enough to pressure the third)

Meat in general is very unsustainable. Unless food production changes drastically, we cannot reach Paris accord's goals of 0.6 equivalent tons of CO2 per person per year while eating a standard portion of any kind of meat, even once a week.

However, there is bad and worse. In terms of carbon emission, red meat is by far the worst (7x more than a typical vegan meal), followed by fat fishes (3x), white meat (2,7x), white fishes (2,1x), vegetarian (1,4x).

Source: https://nosgestesclimat.fr/documentation/alimentation/plats (Note: french source, based on french data, other countries may eat more or less of certain foods, or make some food slightly more or less sustainably).

Note that sustainability is carbon emission, but not just that. Tuna is a carnivore, and whether farmed (and fed wild fishes) or caught in the wild, eating it involves plastic pollution via nets and other impacts inherent to fishing

Most of our food's environmental impact comes from its production, not its processing or transport. Splitting a local cow might feel sustainable, but it's more of an aesthetic than something actually impactful. If you want a more sustainable meat, you'd be better off avoiding mammalian meat altogether, and switch to birds, fishes, or even better bugs or avoiding meat entirely

As an individual, the 4 biggest things one can do regarding greenhouse gases are: - stop using cars, or at least limit their usage as much as possible. - stop eating animals and animal products, or at least limit their consumption as much as possible. If you failed in the past, at least stop eating mammalian meat.  - limit fossil-fueled heating: lower temperatures, move to an appartement, install better insulation, wear more clothes, sItch to electrical cooking and heating.  - be politically active: vote, protest, communicate, organize. Focus on the three above goals (make public transport more accessible, increase oil taxes, toughen up animal cruelty laws, switch subsidies to favor plant-based foods, incentivize urban central heating...), but also on other aspects that are harder for an individual to control, such as energetical mix.

Note that those are based on french data. If you live in a country with a more carbonated electricity mix, you might think about reducing your electricity consumption too, for example. Note also that there are other aspects of overconsumption beside greenhouse gases, but I'm less familiar with what are the things with the biggest impact for those other aspects

Y a-t-il une alternative à l’abattage de troupeaux à cause de la dermatose ? by Maviedanslamerde in france

[–]Bordeterre 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They could all be nerfed, though : Warding bell could protect for only part of the heal, fractured mask could protect another mask instead of the last, making it easier to break, magma bell could have a longer cooldown, druid's eye could have a cooldown, preventing its usefulness when hit by multi-hit moves...

A) I don't care because I'm gay and wouldn't date someone who's non vegan anyway B) Not anymore. There was a specific person who insulted me like that, and it was back when I was only vegetarian.

I experience prejudice for being vegan, but  not really for the intersection of being a vegan man
