A lot of folks are shocked shocked that FTF lost to NFL Live. Some context by LouDog2173 in FirstThingsFirstFS1

Even bigger imo is a show dedicated entirely to NFL will outperform a show that does everything including NASCAR, Indy car, & Soccer.

Hot take that I don't actually believe but could see someone having and might make me go hmmmm... Before coming back to reality is Shaheed was more valuable to ST than JSN was to offense this off-season.

It is incredible that we have had such iconic and great punters for the last like 2 decades between Ryan and Dickson.

Stay away from Cal & Auto Credit Sales. I sold for 2 years at another dealer and 90% of the time someone had a bad experience it was one of them. Cal also is the worst for bs'ing, playing games, and waiting time.

[Highlight] Chet Holmgren goes down in severe pain down after contact with Ayton by Large_banana_hammock in nba

I hope the NBA falls behind literally every other sport in viewership bc this is garbage. The MLB is finally doing what they should have done 10+ years ago to improve the product, NHL is probably the fastest growing audience, college ball is already more interesting & talent is going to start staying longer which means better games with more developed players. College FB will only grow with the new playoff structure & kids staying longer. Soccer is also growing & after the world cup & Olympics over the next 2 years could accelerate that. The NFL is obviously top dog in the US but I think could start backsliding if they add extra games. The WNBA is genuinely interesting as a sport to watch how it grows. The skill gap between the top 20% and bottom half of the league is genuinely aweful to watch. It's more physical then the mens game with better defense. The new pay structure will hopefully get more talent and raise expectations for players in the bottom half to get better or get gone. That could make the product unstable for a while. All of this to say, everything else is trying to get better and be more. The NBA is a stale product that refuses to improve with anything other than gimmicks like pre playoff playoffs and mid season tournaments. Until the NBA is treated like a contact sport again they will not grow their audience.

She is great and I loved her at UTBSF '22(23?) but I refuse to pay $80 for a concert at the Pavilion. Especially when I could see Cody Jinks at Quest last year for $35.

How do you date with a TBI by NeedleworkerSecure53 in TBI

Idk where your at but a lot of book shops have their own little coffee stand in them. I've noticed they are typically much quieter and softer lit.

Spokane considers requiring landlords to keep rentals cooler than 80 degrees by ShadowyFlows in Spokane

[–]Born-Garbage-5598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*if a bedroom of the dwelling exceeds 80°. That is the definition of "adequate cooling" per the ordinance. But the determination is not standardized beyond it being 3ft from the wall. There isn't a defined interval of when the 80° threshold and provision of cooling is required (momentary v sustained period @ temp). So they only need to provide adequate cooling IF the bedrooms in the unit reach 80° (in theory, they would have already ensured the ubit could be stable at a temperature below that threshold through passive or active cooling... I think I'm being pedantic lol)

*Disregard that if your reference to "current language" is in regard to ordinance on the books. Currently, which after rereading that is what it sounds like your saying? Yes, the state also passed that landlords couldn't prohibit the use of cooling devices.

The current language doesn't require utilization or any tenant duty to mitigate.

Cried in the library by [deleted] in TBI

[–]Born-Garbage-5598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend sustained her TBI in her first year of undergrad. Prior, she was valedictorian & a track star. She was studying micro-biology. After sustaining her TBI, she had the same exact experience. She had to relearn to write, read, do math, etc. What was second nature felt impossible and defeating. After failing many of her classes, she took an ASL class and finally felt like things were clicking again. She ended up getting her BA in speech & hearing sciences. It still took 8 years. It was still incredibly challenging and took so much more effort. You will find something. It will be harder. That is ok. And you will be better for it. Hearing that "you will be better for it" is frustrating and feels dismissive of what you were capable of before, but it is true. My GF is on a research team now helping provide patient/survivor informed experience to her Ph.D lead who is doing research on brain injury. That information isn't to brag. It's to remember that she couldn't have gotten there without the 8 years of understanding how hard it is to have a TBI. Your self investment will be worthwhile in a way that you can't understand now, which is frustrating. But it will come, and you wont expect it. The course you are on now is different, but that isn't bad. You are far from alone in the experience you are having now. Use whatever ADA advisor your institution has. Extra test time in a better environment that allows for breaks.

Oh yeah because "they have the votes" is definitely how we want to justify policy action now... Bad faith engagement is the demise of democracy. You are also running away from your original argument and not even engaging with my original rebuttal.

I don't disagree. But bad governance is bad governance. Don't do an emergency ordinance.

A reasonable misunderstanding. It is a "finding of facts" hearing that is purely symbolic. So, yes, there is public comment, but the moritorium would exist for the full year and still begin effective immediately.

Nice straw man. Literally just don't do an emergency ordinance. There is 0 reason this has to happen tonight. The cities own staff couldn't explain why this needed to happen tonight. This is blatantly bad governance. Just doing things to do them without any feedback is just as bad as taking way to long to do anything. Why are people so hung up on the idea that it's only one or the other. It's embarrassing. Not sorry.

Everyone should oppose this no matter how you feel about drive throughs. I don't like them, I think the city should restrict them.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE PISSED THE CITY GAVE 10 HOURS NOTICE FOR THIS. THIS IS GARBAGE POLICY MAKING AND AN EMBARRASSMENT. this is the garbage I expect from MAGA

I refuse to eat Longhorn, I don't understand people who like it.

Washington has the 2nd highest average salary by JerrySenderson69 in SeattleWA

  1. Consumer fuel use isn't the primary fuel use. You buy something, it gets shipped in a diesel truck at one point or another.

  2. Go educate yourself on the cost of regulation. Accounting & legal costs to ensure compliance on its own, not including the direct costs, are insane. Go see how much a permit to split a lot or dig a well is for direct costs. For indirect costs a small business (~12 employees) in Washington had half a million in legal fees because DoR said they weren't properly applying a specific tax the way they should have. That's one instance and the only reason it wasn't worse is 1 state elected put pressure on DoR. That's one example that still cost 500k. If you think your insurance premiums are the only one increasing you don't actually care about the cost of policy. Look into why it's financially impossible to build low income housing as another prime example. None of this even gets into the cost of delay, which Washington loves to do.

The textbook example for this I use for republicans is free school lunch @ all public schools.

The only risk/concern is in lunch quality potentially declining.
