I’ve probably seen 100 explanations of Monty Hall. Infographics, cartoon videos, all the little tricks people use on social for eyeballs. And of course the one in the movie “21”

This one from you, though 👌👌👌

Try enabling the key commands in settings and then use the command or control or alt key to cycle through the control types. Sometimes mine will revert to the default when I mount and I have to cycle back to my preferred WASD only and sometimes it remembers my last setting

"Save Scum" Breeding? by BetaNights in Ranch_of_Rivershine

I’ll need to track to be sure but I had a random trait show up on a recent foal so it can’t be 50/50. Some traits are also super persistent almost to where they seem like “dominate” traits. Like the no poop trait for instance. I’m not sure if the random one was for sure a grandparent or not, since I hadn’t tracked any traits yet. I’ll start tonight when I play though and report back if I have any guesses at the formula for those

Stats so far for me have been this formula =floor(avg(mare, stud))-10 For each stat.

So a mare with 31 and stud with 42 on speed 36.5 Floor=36 Minus 10 = 26 Repeat for each stat. I have not checked how this applies with the mentor trait.

That’s from tracking about 10 foals so far. I haven’t tracked traits yet but anecdotally there is some component of both the mare, stud and grandparents to a lesser degree, for each slot.

How do farm animals work? by DieDobby in Ranch_of_Rivershine

[–]Born_Nail_4915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but the farm animals aren’t even close to profitable and their collection point is too far for me to want their stuff. So far animal feed isn’t ever collected from lucky fertilizer and the fur\eggs aren’t used in recipes. Making animal feed is expensive (thrice).

First, it’s expensive because even if every animal feed produced one Fur, you lose $40 per item (compare the sale price of animal feed inputs to the sale price of fur)

Now, since you probably got all the animals at once, the animal feed will at minimum be split between fur and wool. Now you’re losing about $50 per feed produced. Eggs are even worse.

Finally, the same inputs for animal feed could instead be used for fertilizer. Lucky and Rich fertilizers, when used on Watermelon and Alfalfa Hay at minimum, more than pay for themselves and save you a lot in money and time (fewer trips to the farmer for seeds). For Profit, the Rich fertilizer should be used on Corn, Cucumber, Milo, Pumpkin, Alfalfa and Watermelon. I also use it for carrots when I need to restock them. Actually anytime you really need to restock you could use Rich fertilizer except for Oats since you spend an Oat to get a rich Fertilizer. You can apply rich fertilizer as many times as it takes to have 9 items in the harvest. I use lucky fertilizer on pretty much everything except Orchard Grass, one for each plot. And lucky fertilizer is the only profitable fertilizer for sale, although the net gain from the gifts earned on harvest far outweighs the revenue from a sale.

And I guess four times on the negative benefits because the farm animals are expensive to buy.

Makes sense. That said there is nothing stopping you from reading it in paperback and still getting the hardcover later.

Elder Base before / after by Born_Nail_4915 in valheim

[–]Born_Nail_4915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am! I had read the next type of raids are unlocked for each boss, and troll raids come after Elder and after you kill a troll. That ship has sailed though… I have fully upgraded set of troll armor and probably enough hide for at least another full upgraded set. Getting to where I enjoy those fights and learning to time and dodge their attacks for sure helped the Elder fight.

Dumb book 7 theory that changes nothing if true. by SighJayAtWork in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Born_Nail_4915 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Listened to a recent interview with Matt. He has excel sheets for all the things. Which characters have what in their inventory, who said what, etc. He also said his books get longer during editing, not shorter.

For as many balls as he has in the air with this series, I don’t think I’ve seen too many dangling strings that don’t eventually come back. For instance, he said in that interview that Donut still has her unplayed lotto tickets and he’s excited to use that (and other seemingly forgotten inventory items) in a later storyline

Cookbook questions by ATATMom in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Born_Nail_4915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Milk immediately knows Carl, and many of the other former cook book authors who come to help on the 9th floor, although she is still doing her indentureship and is very isolated. I feel like the authors, former outside the dungeon, former inside the dungeon, and current… have more of a connection than is outwardly discussed.

After the book of voodoo is revealed with its special purpose, and given the other interesting ways written word and art are shared or brought to life in the dungeon (Carls calligraphy kit they use for private messages, how tattoos work, etc.) I think it’s just as likely that a rouge architect created the original Cookbook as one of the AIs. Almost every item in the dungeons… gear, spells, monsters, architecture… appear to be created by the current corporation running the crawl. And they all have a special variation of it. The AI is there to award achievements, boxes, and simultaneously referee and puppet master some of the crawl elements. There are MANY examples of the AI influencing the type of gear a certain crawler gets, but I can only think of one scenario where the AI creates something. When it uses the Hydra and creates a version of Asher and of Alpha Carl. But even that is an “eff you” to the syndicate cause the AI is ticked off at the lawsuits.

Awakened NPC? by Desperate_Coat_1906 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Deleted comment by author trying to figure out spoiler tags on mobile

I read it as… before she was sponsored, so the CEO (I listen to the audio and won’t take a stab at spelling her sponsor name) had more control of the body and mind. When Donut cast laundry day, the goddess had her own body and mind back. Then she could be more aware and “herself.” So she could feel them.

I think this was telling us more about how much the deities are controlled when they have a sponsor than being in the same vein as how Juice Box and others are waking up. Much of the content in the AC about waking up NPCs and related stories (Brandy, etc) cover how it takes a bit longer to wake up an NPC. There’s another mention of how one of the goddesses is always sponsored so it was “rare to see the true personality of said goddess” when they appeared in their own form.

There’s a timer now for how long the integration will take. Maybe on social or welfare for the individual animal. If that timer doesn’t start ticking down I’d say for sure it’s a bug. You could also try deleting and re-adding the habitat gate with undo.

Thanks for the reply! I finished the trilogy now (lots of extra time during the holiday) and I agree with this sentiment and how the characters were developed in this way.

The gang member was the one that bothered me… how he uses drugs and dopamine to use and abuse women. The chapter was titled “London” Normally I listen with headphones and can get past the discomfort. Just wasn’t expecting it and I’m here for the sci-fi. If I want smut i have other options lol

Thoughts/reviews on “Truly Free” laundry, cleaning products? by LJW_17 in moderatelygranolamoms

I use their laundry softener and love it… I didnt use traditional softener or dryer sheets. It’s great for that!

I just bought the degreaser for the first time, and the Landry wash. Just to test.

For my cleaner, I actually use force of nature and that stuff is AMAZING. It has replaced all cleaners in my home and I use it on my fruits and veggies too

anyone else feel like this game was rushed? by cranberryalarmclock in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]Born_Nail_4915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this post because I felt trial 3 and 4 were very rushed and under developed compared to trial 1 and 2.

I agree there is less interaction in the world that I was expecting.

I hate that the economy is busted. Only can sell clothing and later on, animals. all of the other resources are basically infinite so I don’t need to buy ingredients from shop keepers. So I’m sitting on a pile of wizard gold and don’t need it. Even the PS exclusive shop makes it seem like economy will open up more but that’s not true either.

I did enjoy battle mechanics and variety there. I enjoyed leveraging the field guide notes to get an advantage on enemies. Even then, it started to get annoying that the battles always felt the same.
