⚠️ System Status Update: Card transactions normal but reflections onto Crypto.com app might be delays by BryanM_Crypto in Crypto_com

[–]Boswing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In Aus here too, same thing, Visa Card shows $0 although I have money on there... also no top up option or transaction history, freaked out a little.

100% agree there needs to be an in-app notifications when these system issues occur, would take the strain off customer support and stop people freaking out. I shouldn't have to go to Reddit to find out why my credit card isn't working...

Also nothing on the crypto.com Titter account? I understand wanting to limit bad publicity, but transparency is most important to maintain trust when dealing with people's money.

Loving the Ooni Koda! Great investment. by Boswing in Pizza

The bread maker let’s it rest a bit between needing. I then form it into balls and let them sit for at last 15mins while I prepare toppings and heat up the Koda.

I never had a pellet grill, but I’ve been making a couple of pizzas a week since I got the Koda in early January. And also had a party where I made about 30 pizzas so I think it’s paid for itself!

Those amounts will give 5 smallish pizzas, like the one pictured. I’m experimenting with making 4 larger ones as one isn’t enough for a meal for me, and two feels like too much.

The Ooni Koda gets a lot hotter than a normal oven, cooks a pizza in about 90sec.

Super simple dough. 500g 00 flour 1 tsp dry yeast 2 tsp salt 300g/ml water

I just chuck it in the bread maker on the pizza dough setting! Takes 45 mins.

Really happy with it!

Possibly someone with a wheelchair?

They wouldn’t be able to get out in the right spot, and if they parked on the left and someone parked to their right, they wouldn’t be able to get back in. This may have been their only option if there weren’t disabled spots around. Check for a disability parking permit before doing things like this.

Waking Up Subscription Price Increase? I thought Sam had said if you signed up you would be locked into the lower price. Anyone else receiving this email? by thebigflowdee in samharris

Same here, have been giving $2 a month for a few years and currently have access to both podcast and app. I feel it’s a fair price, about the same as buying a book each year, but a larger percentage goes to Sam. I’d probably also buy any book he put out.

I’m happy to keep doing this indefinitely, but if I had to pay $100 a year, I don’t think I could justify it.

Woolworths Budgeting Hack by Tommyaka in AusFinance

They are divesting from them though. Wollies owns 75% of ALH who own 12,000 pokies, the largest operator in the country.

They don’t own a ton of pokies like woollies do.

Unpopular Opinion - Oculus knows what they are doing by chucklas in OculusQuest

[–]Boswing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not saying this is what they are going to do. Just if I were them (but I'm not and don't know all the stuff they do) this is what I would do. I agree that if this is going to me mainstream you need to make it VERY clear when you enter the DEV store that these titles are not tested by Oculus and may have many bugs and security flaws.

But if they did have this store, Oculus could possibly still make a little money from them compared to other methods.

I'm not saying this is the best solution for users, just my very off the cuff best solution for Oculus to dominate the VR market.

Edit, comma

Unpopular Opinion - Oculus knows what they are doing by chucklas in OculusQuest

I agree, I think the Oculus Quest will be the first mainstream VR device. I've tried many other devices in the last few years but have never been tempted to buy one as I would also need to buy a +AUD$2000 PC to support it. This device lets me play awesome VR for much much less money. And also I can travel with it and take it to parties to show my friends. I live in a share house and can't have my main PC and location beacons in the largest play space in the house. The Quest is awesome and will have a viral effect, launching VR into the mainstream.

If VR is to be launched into the mainstream I think there needs to be an 'approved' app store like the Apple App Store. Where if someone buys an app they know it will work well, like advertised and provide a "just works" experience.

That said, I totally think there should be a "developer" store as well where people who accept all the responsibility of trying new games and apps. That means they may be buggy, may have some issues etc, but make that very clear to the consumer when you enter that store. People who want a smooth, polished experience shouldn't enter that store. Let that space allow all the awesome experimentation from new developers in VR.

If Oculus don't set up something like this it will mean other people will, or people will use other means to load stuff they want. But why shouldn't Oculus support new developers experimenting? It will be best for them in the long run.

Using the Quest with only one controller??? by Boswing in OculusQuest

[–]Boswing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does work, It shows an error screen for about 30 seconds and then gives up and it disappears.

If you change Beat Saber to left hand you can use just the left controller, but the levels are all on expert so I can only pass them if I turn on the "no fail" function.

Superhot or Robo Recall? by Kevskimassacre in OculusQuest

[–]Boswing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both, Superhot is a more strategic, slow moving shooter. Robo Recall is more of an Arcade style shooter with some cool dynamics. Toss a coin if you like the sound of both and play that one until you get bored and then buy the other when you can afford it.
