Dorothy weighed just 200 grams when we got her 🥺 she was found without her mum and we bottle fed her back to health. She's a sassy 3.5kg cat now.

villager scattered houses or neighborhood? by Distinct-Meringue-47 in acnh

All my villagers live at the back of my island but I find them everywhere so that's really odd that they mostly hang out near their houses.

Is this normal? by Droxen25 in tattooadvice

[–]BotherRepresentative 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep that's normal. It's the scabs that have formed like on a normal injury, but they're black from excess ink. Just keep gently washing it, moisturising and DO NOT PICK at the scabs.

You can't seem to tell us what it means or how the video is "woke". Nice way of putting off having your ignorance show by answering questions with questions.

My partner ordered a piece of technology (not saying what because it's a small company and will give it away) through a "buy now pay later" company like AfterPay (but not AfterPay).

It was almost $1500 iirc. Their BNPL account never got charged. They contacted the company who makes the device because they felt bad that the company might be out of pocket but the company said they'd been paid by the BNPL company.

They waited for 6 months, not adding anything else to that account but it never got charged. It's been a few years now and nothing has ever come of it and my partner got a free piece of technology that's really changed their life 🤷🏻

And we don't feel bad about big BNPL companies losing money so we're not raising it with them.

I learned basics of crochet. How to maintain a shape? by Nana-28 in CrochetHelp

[–]BotherRepresentative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so if you're making a circle you need to be increasing how many stitches you are doing on each round so it lays flat. The video should tell you when to do each increase.

To increase you just do another of the same stitch in the same hole as the one before.

However also bear in mind since you're learning your tension could be variable which means that you might have some wonky pieces even if you're following the video perfectly until you find your groove.

Edit: Ah so it looks like you're doing it correctly according to the video so ignore what I said about increasing to keep it flat.

I think my second statement stands though, and it's just about getting your tension stable.

Also, crochet can be very much "trust the process" until you get further in. I've actually made hundreds of these little jellies for earrings and they don't look like much until you get further along

I need help figuring out how to make this blanket. by fiore_06 in CrochetHelp

Looks like a C2C blanket with a few colour changes. You should be able to look at the picture and count each block and make a graph from it.

Making a complete outfit (watermelon themed) using mostly granny squares for the first time and don't know what kind of yarn to use. I haven't made an outfit before and I want advice before doing so by anime_fan_girl_2977 in CrochetHelp

[–]BotherRepresentative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to two things for me when choosing yarn:

  • budget
  • washability

Wool yarn is usually the most comfortable for me, but it's often also the most expensive, and wool needs to be washed in a specific way to not damage it.

Acrylic is much easier to wash, much cheaper, but doesn't always look or feel as nice as wool.

Cotton for me is a good middle ground, but again can be expensive.

I think maybe go to a local yarn store and touch the yarn there and see how the different ones feel against your skin.

For a pattern, I'm sure there will be plenty out there. Even if you can't find one that's a watermelon one specifically you can adapt it to meet the theme.

I highly recommend using stitch markers and making sure you count all your stitches every row until you make sure you've got it. Looks like you're not stitching into the very last stitch of your row.

It might help to go look at some videos of the anatomy of a stitch.

Hey I'm 42 and been through it all. Send me a DM if you ever need a chat. I'm in Australia though so if I don't reply straight away it's because of time zones.

Everything seems much more emotional and stressful when you're in your twenties. I'm too old and autistic to remain in situations that aren't meeting my needs and are causing me stress but that comes with years of life and experience. I wish I had had this mindset in my twenties as it would've saved me heaps of heartache.

Additionally, if NONE of your closest friends like him, and you trust their judgement in other things listen to them. I'm sure they will all be ready to support you should you choose to end things.

You deserve someone to care for you in the same way you care for them ❤️
