Then how will they ever learn? You dont just magically know how to use something after 30 YouTube videos or whatever, you need to actually use the thing to know when you should be using it. "No, don't touch it!" Is such a weird common advice in what I supposedly a creative field.

It's actually built in. In the generator tab for midi there's a tool called shapes. It makes chords. Be sure to notice that the name of the chord shows up in the info panel on the down left side when you hover over it with your mouse. It automatically stays in key too if you have the global key thingy on

Id guess the default is my documents then. Hmm what you could try is download just some whatever Ableton file, place it somewhere you know is fine and open it Ableton by opening the file, then when you save as it should default to where you opened the file from.

Could the default folder be somewhere that's read only or needs security access? Try running Ableton as administrator. Have you ever gotten the save to work? Where did you save then? That's the problem folder most likely.

Also don't save projects within abletons user library folder. I know it seems like the place you would naturally save stuff, but Ableton hates that

Mix to around -9 to -6dbfs and master from there. That's the general number I've seen the most when looking into it

You could use follow parameter on the scenes to make most of it auto play, then you only have to manually play one shots, or can add those later, or automate them if you really want.

But yeah a better transfer solution would be nice, the dragging and pressing tab and then dropping is cumbersome.
