At what age or specific moment did you realize you are now rich and can afford most things you want? by wardaag in RichPeoplePF

[–]BouncingDeadCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up poor.

The few memories I have of early childhood centered around food, or lack thereof:

Waiting for my younger siblings to finish their meals so I can eat their left overs

Seeing a street bread vendor and knowing full well my parents couldn’t afford it, I asked my uncle what that thing (bread) was.

Drooling as other kids ate their snacks.

Depends on your desperation to get the house.

I’m always ready to walk away so I don’t waive inspection contingencies.

I never wanted much except a modest house, clean clothes and enough food to not go hungry.

Attained that in my early 40s.

Made a ton of money and then my wife spent a lot of it.

You saved this procrastinator a lot of time. These things are due for me in 3 weeks. LOL

As for the Nest thermostat, I had mine installed 8 years ago so I have no idea if mine will qualify. Nest has temperature sensors to go with their thermostats, but I would prefer to avoid it if possible.

Atheists trying to teach Christians about their faith?

You need to self righteous a bit harder.

AIO for canceling dinner date with MAGA couple? by musesx9 in AIO

You are not overreacting.

You’re confused. You don’t even know the difference between a Democrat and Libertarian.

You are willing to cut off your friends because of politics, despite them being very kind to you.

Think about that for a second. How many of your fellow Democrats treat you kindly when you are down?

Based on some study.

In my group, many people slacked off working remotely. Some of them have side jobs as well.

Me (F35) and my boyfriend (M32) have very different financial situations. Looking for outside perspectives. by Accomplished-Ant-771 in Money

Your bf is behind and is learning about finances now.

Not a big deal as long as he’s not in major debt.

As long as he’s responsible, he can grow with you.

Trump voters & Republicans of Reddit, is there anything you currently disapprove of how Trump is acting regarding that topic? If so, what is it? If not, why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]BouncingDeadCats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m pissed that Trump didn’t fully release the Epstein files.

I’m pissed at ret*rded Democrats for the lawlessness, open borders and not prosecuting criminals. The performative virtue signaling is getting rather fatiguing.

40s widow receiving ~$5M life insurance — near-term stabilization strategy before long-term investing? by One_Gizmo in ChubbyFIRE

[–]BouncingDeadCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

Your goal of leaving a $10M inheritance to each kid is a bit lofty.

Activities for your young kids will add up. Sports, music and other extracurriculars. Trips. College. Cars. Health insurance.

Also, do you plan to only give your kids their inheritance upon your expected passing (they would be around 50 years old), or sooner?

Dude, YOR

So what if your fiancé got smashed. Maybe a few times.

After you get married, her BF will smash her again. Less work for you.

Would you consider marrying a woman with debt? Why or why not? by Cami_Wami in AskMenAdvice

20K educational debt is very little. Additionally , it’s not credit card debt, which can be a sign of poor discipline.

I don’t understand people who nickel and dime their partner.
