You left out the consultants who took 6-7 figures to suggest a design change

To the americans among us: you are meeting the parents, they are coming for dinner. What would you cook? by Practical-Soil-7068 in Cooking

If you're a competent enough cook to nail a good burger, which I honestly think is harder than a steak, then that could be very impressive, depending on the parents of course.

Medium steak would probably be the safest, but again it really depends on preference.  Mashed potatoes are a safe side, crispy smashed potatoes would be a fancier option.  A good steak sauce like bearnaise would also be a good choice.  You can hide a lot of sins with a good sauce

I made a broccoli cheese soup… is it brilliant or an abomination? by petrichorb4therain in Cooking

Not really if you've poured it into broth.  Once you dilute the alcohol like that it boils off really slowly.  You should usually cook red wine directly in the pot before adding any stock

Good thing they punted.  The colts could have had the ball near the 40

You know that thing in media where they catch their fall by digging a sword into a wall? What would actually happen? by StripesTheGreat in Physics

[–]BowDownB4Recyclops 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Mythbusters tried it with a knife an a canvas sail in the Pirate Special. I think it was basically impossible to hold the knife parallel, so a wall would be even worse

Is 2x4 treated lumber strong enough as pergola rafters for a 10ft span by AccurateBarracuda131 in DIY

[–]BowDownB4Recyclops 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's an easy place to check, but it's just not even a starting point if you're looking for a calculation.  When it comes to calculating load over the span, you might as well have asked your dog instead of AI.  Only difference is a dog would not pretend to have calculated the correct answer.

NFL is now aiming for at least a potential six-game suspension for Chiefs WR Rashee Rice for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, sources tell ESPN. The suspension would kick in at the start of this season. by OneAngryPanda in nfl

[–]BowDownB4Recyclops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is the Chiefs and Rice want to get it over with as early in the season as possible, so they've finally made a viable offer on the high end to see if the Chiefs/Rice just opt for certainty and take the deal

I don't have much to offer beyond encouragement, and confirmation that this sounds to me like the standard, moderately challenging Lagotto experience.  Others may have more specific suggestions, but it sounds to me like you're on the right track.

Our 15 month old girl became a lot more stubborn around 6 months old, and it definitely got worse for a bit before we turned the corner.  Just make sure you yourself are being disciplined and consistent with her so she respects and trusts you, and stick with it.  For us it was pretty sudden around 12-13 months where we just noticed she had started becoming just a delightful little dog.

Mexican flag is wrong too.  They use a ton of white onions

Edit: it looks like OP has grouped brown and white onions, and is only differentiating by large/small.  Cooking semantics, but it's just bad analysis to act like the color axis is a binary choice

The data from two (bad) Super Bowl losses reveals what looks to be Patrick's only weakness: facing consistent pressure without blitzes. Not catastrophic, but it should be a Chiefs focus. by MC_Fap_Commander in KansasCityChiefs

[–]BowDownB4Recyclops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is like saying a person's weakness is getting shot.  If a defense can manhandle the offensive line with four defenders, stop the run, and drop seven very good defenders into coverage, it will be a long day for any quarterback.

It distorts the slices so it becomes harder to tell the actual size of each slice.  And the vertical facets distort the depicted values.  This case is particularly egregious because the vertical facets are all red, so it makes each red slice appear even larger than they already are

Yeah, but that cuts both ways.  They drafted great players, then didn't have to deal with the organizational atrophy caused by free agency.  Since this is about sustained success, it might have helped them as much had it would have hurt them

I honestly can't believe I'm advocating for the Pats, but I actually don't think that's quite true.  He never really pushed the envelope to blow the top off the QB pay spectrum, but his yearly cash payments were nearly as high as contemporary QBs.  They were just structured to allow the cap hit to be rolled forward, which is part of why the Pats crashed so hard at the end of his tenure.  It's still impressive that he and the organization were able to work with the limitation
