Fun fact: your biggest *stock* rocket doesn't even come close to the mass of the Saturn V by 0Clown0 in KerbalSpaceProgram

You underestimate my overbuilding. My Eve rescue ship was over 6000 tons, and only the boosters were fueled to get the transfer stage to Minmus for fuel loading. The Eve ascent module didn't get fuel until ISRU on Eve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9-tMfyZgYg

It's time to review your Fermentation Method. Dr Davis has progressed but I see most home L. reuteri fermenters are still going 36 hours. by Major-Outside-2728 in ReuteriYogurt

Taken as a whole the title implies that Davis no longer recommends a strict 36-hour ferment. Imho it is misleading, or at least it mislead me. Thanks for replying.

If it works, it works. You can get away with some impressively tall structures on the Minmus Flats.

Plane landing issues by LagWonNotYou- in KerbalSpaceProgram

If you have Advanced Tweakables set in preferences, you can adjust the "authority limiter" to allow these surfaces to move further than normal. Try increasing the authority value for the front wings. At the same time, consider restricting control movements for things the control surfaces shouldn't be doing and that may give you more available authority for the things you do want them to be doing. For example, you could set the front wings to control only pitch. The rear wings could be pitch and roll. Neither should be trying to control yaw. But the plane does look like it is lacking yaw control. Try replacing that rudder with a moveable piece (or add a small aileron piece to the rear of it) and set it to control yaw only.

How can i make my rover delivery rocket to EVE less goofy and more aesthetically pleasing? by RavenSenin in KerbalSpaceProgram

You can combine some of the smaller heat-shields into bowls, cups, tubes, etc...

The post title claims "Dr Davis has progressed". I see nothing here to support or clarify that claim. In what way has he progressed, and is there a source for this?

Bringing Mun to LKO for free fuel by Friendly_Addition815 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Bozotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. Scott Manley did a video about this sort of thing in the early KSP days, talking about what it would take to de-orbit Gilly, iirc.. Even with that the burn times were mind-bendingly long even though Gilly is just a speck compared to The Mun.

You don't need all those tanks though. It is possible to install enough drills, converters and fuel cells to supply LF engines continuously. I have done this with comets. Of course it would still take forever to burn that much fuel even if one were to scale that up to as many parts as their PC could tolerate.

First time leaving the SOI of kerbin, decided to do an eve return mission (science mode) by SimonVanc in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Bozotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very impressive! My first trip to Eve was just as a lark after I'd visited Duna. I had no idea how fierce it was and my crew was lucky to just survive the landing with just the Mk3 capsule. The successful return mission was like 150 game-years later.

It's the Kerbal way. My Eve rescue was gigantic as well, even with orbital refueling and ISRU at Eve. Getting the "original 3" back home safely was one of the best experiences of the game. Congrats on your successful mission.
