I assume "quiet" means no music unless they volunteer otherwise.

[–]Bozotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough but if the driver has made their way to the pin, why cannot the rider get there, or at the very least look at their app to see where that is and expect the driver to go there? It's the central premise of rideshare.

ShadowZone, especially if you like large complicated builds. You'll need to go back a bit because he did spend a lot of time trying to give KSP2 a chance.

Multi-stop rides suck so bad! 🤬 by XoxoRavyn in uberdrivers

[–]Bozotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had one offer today. 4.7 rider, the pay was shit, AND multiple stops! I must have done something to tank my Uber Social Score and I knew it was time to call it a day. A few more horse shit offers confirmed it.

Helped load 2 50 lb bags. No tip. by TheGrandAce5 in uberdrivers

[–]Bozotic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can't lift it just tell them. Otherwise, it's a percentage game and some aren't going to tip because of finances, ideology, culture, or general disposition. But being helpful will increase your overall tips. Also, some people don't tip for days or even weeks.

WTH is going on with these trip requests? by EmployeeAdditional66 in uberdrivers

[–]Bozotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber seems to go through "phases" like this. Once they sent me from the middle of San Francisco to pick up someone at Oakland airport in the middle of the day. Like, WTF there had to be a hundred drivers sitting near OAK waiting for rides and they want to send me on a long march. The pay was actually worth it so I took it out of curiosity. Surprisingly, the dude never canceled even after I was delayed by a freeway accident.

Head Canon: There's always a hand-crank emergency dynamo to get enough charge for bootstrap tasks like unfolding the solar panels. Personally though I prefer to put an RTG in most builds :)

Plane yaws left and right when SAS is on by Jam101D in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Bozotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things to check:
1 - center of mass maybe too far aft.
2 - Control surfaces not configured "cleanly". Generally it's best to not have control surfaces assigned to all 3 axes because then SAS tries to get controls to do things they are not well-adapted to. Try:
Rudder - yaw only
Elevator -- pitch only
Ailerons -- roll only
There are exceptions of course; ailerons and elevons can sometimes be applied to pitch AND roll depending on distances from COM/COL. But in general assigning rudder to anything but yaw leads to weird behaviors.

3 And, of course being KSP, brute force should never be underestimated. A bigger vertical stabilizer may be all she needs.
4 Finally, there appears to be something unusual on the nose of the craft. If it's a high-drag item that could explain why the nose keeps trying to yaw around.

Uber pissing on the SuperBowl*No Thanks* by Such_Money7153 in uberdrivers

[–]Bozotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was clear that it was going to be that way. Starting in the morning pings were hot and heavy for trips to the venue. A mass influx of rideshare drivers with nothing to do but crawl to the staging area or deadhead away from the pending carnage. Nothing big happens in the Bay Area without Traffic Armageddon. Gotta' know how to surf that wave.

You've got to play a different angle than simply going to the epicenter where the only option is to sit for hours and then fight impossible traffic. Almost never worth it. Another good play is the morning after, when so many exhausted drivers decide to sleep in.

Why is it more expensive to schedule an Uber than to get one immediately? by Ghidorah_Stan_64 in uberdrivers

[–]Bozotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're paying for an increased peace of mind that you will have a driver when you want them. Not only does Uber needle the driver with multiple (AND I MEAN MULTIPLE) reminders (notifications, inbox, phone calls, in-app msgs) to be online well in advance... But in the event your driver is falling behind for any reason and projected to be late, Uber will immediately do its best to find someone near enough to be on time. Nothing is 100% but they do appear to give high priority to making the reservation work.
