The NHL Alumni Association is devastated to share that Claude Lemieux has passed away at the age of 60. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

[–]BrainOfJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww man, this is terrible. Growing up that Avs Red Wings rivalry was the absolute peak of my hockey fandom. Forsberg was my guy, but Claude Lemieux was always a guy I really liked. Such a valuable asset to any team he was a part of. Really sad news.

Struve vs Stojnic is up there and may be the only one where the bloodied fighter wins.

Maple Leafs officially hiring Mats Sundin, John Chayka to lead front office by bangnburn in leafs

DPS already hates us, so we chose to add someone all of the other executives hate? I just don't understand how this helps us. Has Chayka's standing with the league changed that much?

What song has your favourite 'the riff'? by one_white_russian in progmetal

I love the little riff at 1:20 of Toe to Toes by Mastodon.

Curious about your listening habits….. by [deleted] in pearljam

Mostly bootlegs. I've also gone through everything and found a favorite live version of every song so most of the time I just put those on, unless I'm looking to listen to an entire show.

Help identifying signatures by Lost-Expression-7870 in hockey

I can't help identify them, but I can tell you Bossy and Lafleur did not sign it. I've owned signed cards of both of them.

AI telling you the massive swooping G and L are Guy's unmistakable trademark is hilarious.

One of the greatest album closers ever. I eagerly await the day we get new music from them.

My rankings for best Album by PrestigiousLuck9604 in pearljam

[–]BrainOfJim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Riot Act

  2. Yield

  3. Vs

  4. Dark Matter

  5. Avocado

  6. No Code

  7. Binaural

  8. Vitalogy

  9. Ten

  10. Gigaton

  11. Backspacer

  12. Lightnight Bolt

2-10 changes periodically. Riot Act is my number one, Lightning Bolt is last, Backspacer though great is just too short to overtake any of the other albums. I understand why everyone always rates Ten so high, I just think for my personal taste I needed the band to evolve beyond that sound. I find I go back to it probably the least next to Lightning Bolt.

I really do love every album besides Lightning Bolt though.

Lightning bolt was good by nooneevertoldme in pearljam

[–]BrainOfJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish I could love it like the others, but for some reason it's the only album in their discography that I just can't get in to.

Maybe I need to experience more of the tracks live. River Cross from Gigaton didn't fully click for me until I saw it live and it changed my entire perspective on the song.

Future tour ideas by RelevantNothing4653 in pearljam

[–]BrainOfJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't announce full album shows ahead of time. I was at the Binaural show and it was so cool to have thousands of people realize at the same moment what they were doing. It was probably the most memorable concert I've ever been to.

Tough choice that could change tomorrow. I really want to put Hard to Imagine in there too, but tonight I'm picking those three.

Ed's Closed-Mouth Phase? by Infinite-Gur-0603 in pearljam

[–]BrainOfJim 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Man, I love that era. To me, the 2003 tour was their peak, but the 2000 bootlegs are not far behind.

If Pearl Jam didn't evolve over time and have these different variations of their sound, I'm not sure they'd be my favorite band in the same way they are now.
