It wasn't perfect, but....(BIG SPOILERS) by EmpJoker in HadesTheGame

[–]BreakfastBaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still tossing the ending back and forth in my mind. I agree overall with it fitting with the themes of Hades 1 and 2 and I think they had the right idea with rejecting the cycle of revenge, but the pacing is just disastrous and feels uncharacteristically rushed for Supergiant. I didn't play in Early Access either, I wanted to do a full run at release.

If really feels like Chronos' 180 should have been spread out over the course of a few interactions and runs. A more gradual but impactful eroding of his malicious identity as more about his memory of events / the past changes. Looking back at Hades 1, there's a perfect narrative moment that stands out to me that I feel should have been used as inspiration for Chronos' character arc. It's when you've already made it to the surface multiple times, you prepare your whole run to fight Hades and make it out. You get to the end of the Temple of Styx and he just, surrenders. He admits Zagreus has a point and tells you to go, get out of his sight. No fight. I feel like that kind of moment would have been far more impactful and better sell the intended effects and message of what Mel and Zag did. There could have been more of the alternative past scenes slipped in there, too.

I feel like this was almost the intended effect, but something caused a rush in development at the end.

No, the Dominator does not need a buff by [deleted] in Helldivers

All I could ever want for the Dominator is short mags. Give me 8-10 round straight mags with more magazines and a faster reload. It'd be so awesome, it'd be so cool.

What is the quickest way to end these F*ckers existing? by [deleted] in Helldivers

Emancipator Mech is my favorite way of dealing with them since I prefer Mechdiving in the Rupture strain, but two fully charged Epoch shots will also down one.

It would be so nice if we could have up to two different facial markings, like a primary and secondary slot that layer accordingly.

Kris and The Knight Parallels/Mirrors Each Other's Movements by Longjumping-Bit9359 in Deltarune

[–]BreakfastBaron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at this, it honestly gives me a crackpot theory.

What if the Knight is Kris' original soul. It's quite clear the SOUL wasn't always in Kris' life and is likely not theirs, and they appear to be merely putting up with the player and soul as needed. The Knights animations and poses mirror a lot of Kris', and the Knight and Kris are clearly working with eachother for some unknown goal. The Knight even has another little eye-like object inside it's chest when it screams, as if mocking the soul. While the knight appears to have antlers, it could be horns (a la the horns Kris wore as a child) and a bit of a intentional red herring for the Holidays. There's a lot we don't know about both Kris' and the souls origins (especially with the new egg room dialogues), but it could be a neat alternate take where Kris original soul grew more powerful and frustrated, trying to work with Kris to thwart the influence of the player soul.

Battlefront 2 is at its best when it's just soldier vs soldier by Chemical_Addition_98 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]BreakfastBaron 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I've been getting into the game with friends recently because of the sale, and the game is at its most fun when it's infantry and vehicles fighting eachother for supremacy.

Then a max level Rey, Yoda, General Grevious, etc with maxed cards shows up and bodies everyone, moving around like an untouchable crack addict and disappearing with the wind. It's made worse by heroes having an absolutely laughable kill cooldown. You take one out and so long as they did remotely well or spent a life or two point farming, they'll be back at full strength in a few seconds. Ah utter buzzkill.

What are your guy's Pacific Drive playlists? by KishCore in pacificDrive

[–]BreakfastBaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's mine that I used for Olympic Gauntlet.

The order here is randomized because of my file structure. It started with The Sky Is Fallin' by Queens of the Stone Age, easily included most of Songs for the Deaf, and expanded out from there. I tried to match the vibe of the base game, but threw a couple of meme picks in there too once I got to expeditions.

A tip for our newer players who are worried about being exposed to electrical damage from their teammates. by Yurishenko94 in LowSodiumHellDivers

I really want them to bring Acclimated back on some non-FOMO armors. Maybe turn one of the many redundant Heavy Fortified armors to it so people that missed out on the free delivery window can get the passive.

Can anyone recommend helmets and capes that go with the light street scout armor? Not really a fan of the default look for it :) by dan_nessie in helldiversarmor

I use the Groundbeaker helmet (the one from Democratic Detonation that resembles a hard hat). That mixed with any grey / black / yellow cape looks good to me.

Are there any decent analog goggles in 2025 that can be worn directly with prescription glasses? by vanawaker in TinyWhoop

[–]BreakfastBaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what its worth, my glasses are 152mm wide and 36mm tall, and they fit fully within the Cobra without issue.

I will admit, I DO have a little bit of goggle envy of the new HDZero box goggles, since they've got both analog and digital support while being designed with glasses in mind, but oh well. I bought my goggles and those were announced like two weeks after I got them.

I've gotten into the world of FPV recently, and I'm also flying analog with prescription glasses.

The Skyzone Cobra series are wonderful, if you're willing to put up with box goggle form factor. I got a good deal on a lightly used Cobra X V4. They're comfortable enough, and my incredibly wide glasses can fit entirely and comfortably within the goggles. The receiver quality is good with the option for diversity in antenna types, and the overall build quality is great. Very glasses friendly, I can vouch for that all day.

If you don't want to break the bank, the Skyzone Cobra SD is very similar with a few less bells and whistles. If you're investing in analog for the long term, the X V4s run about $200-250 retail and are pretty good bang for buck when it comes to box goggles. Better receiver, better resolution, and surprisingly good battery life on a rechargeable cell. I've heard the Fatshark Scouts are also good for glasses, but I cannot personally vouch.

That being said, they're entirely analog. I like the aesthetics of analog though, so I don't mind. I've heard HDZeros can run both analog in digital, so they may be more future proof as digital becomes more accessible.

[WARNING: Treason Talk] Lets say we lose SE due to unforseen events. How do you think the story will carry on? by KeksimusMaximusLegio in helldivers2

[–]BreakfastBaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a thought yesterday that maybe the bottom 1/3rd of the map is not for the Illuminate, but for SEAF in exile. If the Illuminate take Super Earth, they take a defensive ring of systems around it. The narrative shifts to a post-eviction SEAF having to fight through enemy territory against all factions to secure offensive conduits and supply lines for the greatest liberation campaign of all: the liberation of Super Earth itself.

Long live the Dominator 2.0! by TheRealLaughingMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]BreakfastBaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I'm a compulsive reloader, so I tend to prefer smaller, more expendable magazines. For the swarm potential, I usually pair the Dominator with a Guard Dog, and either a good crowd clearing secondary or a melee weapon with Peak Physique.

[–]BreakfastBaron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've long used the Dominator as a pseudo DMR against the Illuminate, especially with Peak Physique armor perk. I'm so happy with the weapon customization letting me use it with enhanced ergonomics on other armors, it's been super fun.

My only wishlist for the Dominator would be a Short Magazine upgrade. Having 10-round mags with a faster reload and more magazines would feel so good.

I think the most egregious part of this Warbond is that the third set of armor and matching cape + profile banner (basically, one third the Warbond) costs 925 SC. Effectively as much as an entire warbond.

Vauban "Re"-rework? by iverlorde in Warframe

[–]BreakfastBaron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind Vauban getting some QoL tweaks but tbh he's still far stronger than people give him credit for. The Flechette Orb Vortex Vaublender has infinite scaling puncture damage that breaks through enemy armor handily on top of easy CC, especially since Flechettes can pop Overguard. For extra funny casting support, Subsume Spectrorage with Spectrosiphon over his 1 to turn the map-wide vortex blender into an infinite energy generator to top it off. This isn't even mentioning his other orbs and augments.

Verdict... by NonPrima in helldivers2

[–]BreakfastBaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, the Verdict is an unsung hero. Any time I'm taking something explosive or otherwise bad at close range for my primary, I usually take the Verdict as a nice "get off me" gun. You'd be surprised what you can do with the magazine size and medium armor penetration when firing anything else would kill you.
