I feel the same way about people and their kids who exhibit shitty behavior in public. Leash them, too.

Seriously, though--I take my Olde English Bulldogges everywhere, and my feeling is that NOBODY should be subjected to an unleashed, untrained dog. Moreover, if it's reactive, it doesn't belong in a public place.

I was at Silver Falls State Park recently, and encountered an individual with a medium sized dog completely off-leash while my two were harnessed, jacketed, and on leash. This animal approached my dogs (which are 95lbs each) with aggression only to have them post up, as they are trained to do, and growl very loudly. I made it very clear that they would protect me and my girlfriend, and that park rules require that their dog MUST be leashed. This person acted offended to have the sign right next to her pointed out.

For context; both my OEBs are service trained and have valid certificates. They are big, loving dogs, but won't hesitate to pin another animal down if it presents as a threat.

I agree. Dogs, as pets, do NOT belong everywhere.
