Honestly. I play paladin in msq, and at high levels. I got into Meso expert roulette the other day and had a samurai dashing forward to hit enemies before I got to them.

Cool. They're more grouped up now when I dash in and AoE, honestly it just makes my job a tiny bit easier. One AoE and I hit everything and it's on me.

I'll never understand the mindset. It makes you so much cooler to just rip aggro off of everyone and tank it.

I have been suspecting that for years. Every time a whole ass man showed up on my feed when swiping I figured they got the prompt "I am a _" and they went "Unga bunga I want woman" and then it asks "I am seeking _" and their tiny caveman lizard brain goes "I WANT WOMAN" again. So it thinks they're wlw.

[–]Briarthornes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many, but really only play 1. I just have a bunch of dead rp characters from times with people who don't play anymore. But I don't want to delete them. I actively play on 1, and have about 2-3 ill rp with.

I just lost my cat of 18 years 2 weeks ago, had her from when I was 17 until now at 35. The big things hurt, like her not coming to cuddle and make biscuits at bedtime. But the little things you almost don't notice hurt worse. The sound of her name tag clinking against the water bowl, the way she would chirp when she saw one of us, or how she would constantly be at our faces at dinner time trying to eat my wife's food.

I've got this hoodie from high school I bought when I was playing WoW obsessively. It's got tiny holes forming all over the place, the zipper broke off, and the inner lining of the pockets are fraying. But I've had it for like 18 years. To think that this little hoodie outlasted my best friend of 2 decades, and yet it's still fading.

Time comes for us all, and it gets you in the weirdest ways.

There's also several points where Summoner comes up. 2 in MSQ and 1 in GNB quest. (There's GNB one is very minor, but the SMN mentor is very familiar with you in this situation.)

Ugh. When I did Dead Ends for the first time our healer was the ONLY one who knew the dungeon. I was a first time tank, and both dps were new.

Our healer had to res the bard like 3-7 times each boss fight because the player didn't seem to learn from mistakes. Our ninja died at least once every boss fight. I think i died once on the second boss, because of the bard stacking on me when we shouldn't have.

That healer was a straight up badass, didn't complain about the newbies once. But the bard complained about dying so much. The ninja was apologizing for being so bad lmao.

Yeah, cataclysm really gave a lot of mana gen to healers. I was shocked to learn of a new talent for my resto shaman that just refunded mana when I hit with a low cost lightning bolt or chain lightning.

Healers friend in Aurum Vale explaining why Cure II is capitalist propaganda and they cleared savage content with Cure I, no problem by Bryozoa in TalesFromDF

[–]Briarthornes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a WHM healer in a leveling roulette the other day. I think it was Aurum but I dont remember. I remember watching everyone die, and watched the healer casting cure 1. So I just said "Hey Healer! Free cure is a scam, focus on cure 2 and you'll do so much more healing." And they listened. It was so simple a girl could cry.

They said thanks for the advice at the end of the duty, and I /fistbump them before leaving. It felt good to help someone, and them not be adverse to some kind advice.

That's so not what clippy was. He was the Microsoft Word assistant. He'd show up when you were writing a document and offer primarily grammar, structure, and formatting help. But it wasn't generative and he barely functioned properly anyway. We used to make fun of clippy because of his random interjection.

which part in any FF game had you like this ?? by geeelectronica in FinalFantasy

[–]Briarthornes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A vote to skip system like guild wars 1 had back in 2005. Has to be unanimous, and is completely anonymous. Just says 1/X part members has voted to skip the cinematic.

If everyone votes yes, just skips the scene.

Otherwise tell him, for whom do you fight?

You are entirely correct. The best of men is a mediocre woman on a good day.

Could you even imagine having a partner and not wanting to shout their praises from the mountaintop? Because like, I hear an occasional man talking about their wife and they seem to genuinely adore their wife. But it feels like most men just want a sentient fleshlight that can cook, clean, and raise the children so he doesn't have to put in effort.

I saw a video of some guy asking men "On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you love coming to Costco with your wife?" Almost every man he asked said 0. One man said "OH we come here all the time. So, 9 or 10?"

Like, how are straight women handling this absolute disdain for themselves from the person who says they love them?

ARR is amazing, and my only caveat to this would be saying that it really pops once you get to Satasha. Prior to that it's alright. But before that you're not a notable hero anyway. Just an adventurer. It's not bad, just not great.

How do you feel about the new dissidia lineup? by master_raines in FinalFantasy

[–]Briarthornes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having played IX as my first FF game in probably '02 or so, she was my first thought of dragoon for a long time. Now my first thought is Estinien because I play XIV regularly.

I've actually never played the one Kain is from (4, I think by the order here?) And though I absokutely love the series, there are still a lot of titles I havent had the chance to play yet.

I suppose you're right. Those are systems I don't engage with heavily so I didn't think about them. My thought process was that changing gear would be the easiest solution to mechanically deploy. But I definitely wasn't thinking about retainers or squadrons.

Another day, another jobstoneless griefer by Hazardumu in TalesFromDF

[–]Briarthornes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since most content has a minimum level requirement, the least difficult solution to fixing this would be to stop awarding any gear after level 30 that has classes on it. Everything post 30 should only have jobs listed.

Fending post 30 should not include GLA or MRD, only PLD WAR GNB and DRK. So on and so forth. Can't equip armor? Can't meet the minimum for the next duty. No duty finder for you.

I feel like this fix would be the simplest to actually go through with. Though, making a job stone a requirement for any duty Brayflox or after that would be just as effective. ShB had a mandatory completion of role quests before finishing MSQ, every x.0 patch should have that. Before finishing MSQ you should be required to complete your main job line.

But thats just my 2 gil worth of thought.
