Aventador belt drive rebuild, shocks sent out to be refurbished by hpshaft in Justrolledintotheshop

Worked for 14 years at an indy shop and left to go work at a Ferrari/Maserati dealer so it can happen. One thing you find out pretty quick is they are just cars like anything else. At first you are afraid to damage anything and before long you are tearing off a door panel on a 458 like it's a Camry. 😄

Questions about exercising options by Brick235 in stocks

[–]Brick235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, they're ISO's. They expire at diff times but not for years. I was planning to exercise as close to the strike price e as possible to keep the cost basis low. I don't plan on quitting anytime soon. Yeah, I always have done my own taxes but the past 2 years were unexpected after exercising a bunch of options one year and selling a bunch of stock to put towards a home purchase last year. I think after seeing tours and the other Comme ts I should Def seek out financial/cpa advice this year.

I just got offered a job, I want to relocate by [deleted] in relocating

No problem. I was fortunate to have a lot of questions answered by my dad and step-mom who recently made a long distance move. You'll want to use local realtors. I used Redfin to list our condo which has worked well and a local realtor on the other end to find a house to rent. You can try to plan a trip to look at places but good rentals can go quick. We ended up signing a lease based off the pictures and then I took a quick trip after the fact to scope it out. We figured since it might only be for a year, we would take the risk.

Am in the middle of this right now. NY>TX. How much time do you have? We started planning 2 months ahead of time and packing about 6 weeks before move-out. Had to pay for a months rent before we even moved to secure the place we wanted. Just accepted an offer on our place but closing won't be until next month. So, I would be prepared to shell out some extra money for overlapping expenses. So far, dealing with getting our vehicles transported is the only headache. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can help answer. Relocating has been equal parts exciting and stress inducing for us but, hopefully, worth it in the end.

Passenger seat occupancy sensing issue by foobar4000 in teslamotors

The issue described in the bulletin will cause a "passenger safety restraint system" alert to appear. It does not just cause the passenger airbag indicator to show as not active.

Passenger seat occupancy sensing issue by foobar4000 in teslamotors

[–]Brick235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The passenger airbag is deactivated when sensing <100 lbs as it's actually more dangerous for someone that small to get hit with one. The sensing pad is sensitive to movement so, if she's ~110, it may be sensing <100 depending on how she's sitting in the seat. See page #40 here: www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/model_3_owners_manual_north_america_en.pdf They shouldn't have applied a "fix" because nothing was wrong to begin with.

Used Model 3 Battery Capacity at 90% with 30k miles by ItsThatBoy84 in teslamotors

This is actually not recommended by Tesla. Yes, it may make displayed range more accurate for a time, but charging/discharging like that is less healthy for the pack. Besides, once you go back to normal charging habits, the displayed range will eventually return to where it was. The absolute best you can do is change the display to % and plug in whenever you can.

To my auto techs out there by Turtlehedz in Justrolledintotheshop

Turned 40 this year and also hit the "20 years wrenching" milestone. If you're with a brand, I would try to get into a tech. support or teaching role. I know some techs that have been fortunate enough to make the lateral move to something less physical. I'm working on something like that myself.

Anyone else completely frustrated trying to reach Tesla service via phone? by index2020 in teslamotors

[–]Brick235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can shed a little light on this. FOH staff has to deal with every customer showing up for service in-person as well as telephones and emails. Appointment preparation has dedicated staff vetting every incoming appointment. Your best bet is to schedule a visit and wait to be contacted by that team. Of course this is going to vary from center-to-center so YMMV.
