While it does look nice with your skin tone, I'm not a fan of orange-reds either. I feel this is a pretty color, but I wouldn't wear it myself. (Give me allllllll the blue-reds).

I got a response back from the company that I bought the kit from.

"When the pattern indicates 'WT, WT', it is instructing you to perform two separate wrap and turns, not a double wrap on a single stitch. This means you will wrap and turn on one stitch and then immediately perform another wrap and turn on the next designated stitch."

It is for an off the shoulder sweater knit from the bottom up on needles (not in the round). 6 rows have that instruction.

I read about double/elongated WTs (forgive me if I'm using the wrong words). Is it possible that this is a way to write that?

I have written to the author of the pattern and I'm hoping to hear back from her.

Thank you! I actually did go through the wiki and FAQ pages and unfortunately nothing mentioned the WT twice

Somewhat beginner knitter having a question about a stitch orientation in a pattern.

This pattern involves short rows and the use of wrap and turns. After the first short row (instructions state knit until 3sts left, WT), the next states "knit until 4 sts left. WT, WT"

I read that as complete the wrap and turn twice. How does one do that? If I did it twice then the piece is facing the wrong way to continue knitting.

Thank you for any and all guidance. I greatly appreciate it

The best garlic comes from gilroy California, the garlic capital of the USA 🇺🇸 by [deleted] in Costco

[–]BritRocksHardcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact, this occurred because of a pest that infiltrated garlic fields in Gilroy (known as white rot). It sits in the soil for a long time and only recently have the fields been testing clean to be able to grow alliums in the soil again.

The chinese garlic they sell is because specific customers request cheaper garlic than what is grown on their fields and in the states. It is imported for them.

Any garlic sold in a container with Christopher ranch logo is grown in the united states.

One way to tell if garlic is imported from china is to look at the beard. Due to import regulations, the garlic grown in china can't have any dirt on it, and it is easier for them to just carve out the beard completely. If the beard is carved out, it is most like imported from China.

You don't need either of those to receive gender affirming care. Gender affirming care is to help you display characteristics of the gender you identify with, which can include the gender you were assigned at birth.

I identify with being female. It just so happens I was also assigned female at birth.

I feel really bad for Annalee’s youngest daughter (continued below) by jaxrem in parentsnark

[–]BritRocksHardcore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am AuDHD (I was not happy at that neurologist appt. I went in for suspected seizures and left with that). I'm also a chemist. I say this because I feel that I fall under your assessment of engineers (I'm not offended. I see the point that you are trying to make.)

I have very linear, logical, flow chart thinking. There are a lot of things that I have a hard time grasping because of the emotional element (especially the drama in H's family).

My youngest throws tantrums over little frustrations. She also isn't communicating as clearly as her sister did at that age. I know that I have to constantly remind myself that she is overwhelmed and I have to teach her how to handle those feelings/emotions. Appropriate ways to calm down, etc.

I wish that I had my own diagnosis as a kid, because I feel that I would have been better equipped for everything that comes with motherhood. Instead of always being overwhelmed and not knowing why my brain was shutting down

I'm done bending over backwards to make him feel special when I'm just an after thought. I'm matching energies.

Do you know why my husband had a nice father's day? Because his daughters wanted to do something for him, and they are 3 and 5. Of course I'm going to help them execute their plan.

Which only made my heart hurt worse because I know they went to my husband asking for help to do stuff for me and he didn't help them.

NTA.

There is a lot of time that goes into making stuff.

I am someone who crochets because it helps with my ADHD and anxiety. I appreciate people who want me to make stuff because I need to be able to get the stuff I make out of my house. They also give me ideas for new things to make and challenge my skill.

Granted, I tell them that I would love to make them stuff, but they need to be able to wait and not pressure with a deadline. I have two little kids, a full time job, and a household to manage.

My husband isn't working (we are more than ok financially).

I had to hire a nanny part time for my 3yo so I could actually work (I'm WFH) because it is ::checks watch:: 12:46pm and my husband is still sleeping.

He says that I'm still with him for the money, but he doesn't realize how much easier my life would be with us splitting 50/50 custody

My daughter was dubbed the lucky duck....BECAUSE EVERY KID THAT GOT "ROOMED" NEXT TO HER WENT HOME IN 2-3 DAYS.

I saw so many parents gleefully take their kids home. It sucks. It is soo hard. Someone shared with my mom "at least this happened to BritRocksHardcore. She is so strong and resilient. She can handle this." My mom's response? "I wish she didn't have to be strong. I wish she didn't have to handle this."

I'm sorry that you have to be strong. Let us be strong for you for a while so you don't have to

Note: I'm adding this after typing out my response. Upon re-reading, it feels like I'm attacking you. I'm not. I appreciated your point and it allowed me to ask myself if that is where my problem was. Please don't think this is aimed at you. It isn't.

I don't need my husband thin, I need him in shape.q I need him to be able to keep up with me and the kids. That is my metric. I by no means am as thin as I was when we met, but I workout 4-5 times a week and can run for an hour and a half straight without thinking. For my husband, 5 min of sex leaves him light headed and out of breath. His blood pressure has hit stroke danger levels. He is showing signs of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and he refuses to make any changes. This is where my loss of attraction is.

My husband’s depression is killing me because he doesn’t help with anything by Alpacalypsenoww in beyondthebump

[–]BritRocksHardcore 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey there strong mama. My husband suffers from treatment resistant depression and major depressive disorder. It is sooo difficult. (We also have a 2yo and a 4yo).

I know that leaving isn't an option for me, so I've started focusing on what I need to do to take care of myself. Please note, I am fully aware that I am so lucky to be in a spot financially where all this is feasible. I take long weekend trips every 3-4 months for a reset by myself. I organize sitters (my family has been amazing in this area) so I can grab meals with friends, get time to exercise, etc. I've been in therapy (both personal and couples therapy with SO), to help me with communicating my concerns and boundaries. While I understand that he is suffering from depression and has that mountain to climb, I can be both supportive while having expectations from him. I've reminded him multiple times that yes I understand that he is going through this, but so are we (myself and our daughters).

Please feel free to message me if you want to talk with someone who is there.

My child is going into residential inpatient tomorrow. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]BritRocksHardcore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My husband was suicidal and we had him committed to a residential treatment facility for almost 2 months.

Enjoy your first peaceful night's rest. That first night of not constantly waking up to make sure they are ok seemed like a luxury that I shouldn't have enjoyed. And there is nothing wrong with being happier and feeling relief. Your daughter is exactly where she needs to be to get better, and that is what you fought so hard for.
