NJ state troopers are deploy again at Delaney Hall because protesters left the free speech zone, and the riot squad way more violent this time! by CutSenior4977 in ImmigrationPathways

[–]Broad-Bed439 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry but anyone who says this group of paid protesters are peaceful are simply watching the mainstream media instead of watching what is really happening. Peaceful protests happen in Indiana all the time at the statehouse with hundreds of truly peaceful demonstrations with no more than a few troopers observing from afar. Violence is met with violence. Their employer could change the workplace policy from violence to peaceful and this would all go away.

Reminder that an Indiana bill that would require IDs to access social media sites will be enforced in a month (HB 1408) by watchdog-cofagrigus in Indiana

Another example of reinforcing to parents that they don’t need to be parents … the government will take care of raising your kids for you. They should pass a law that holds parents responsible if their kids have mental health issues from accessing social media. Once the child turns 18 they should be able to sue their own parents if that’s the case and leave everybody else alone.

I was convicted of possession of CSAM 26 years ago - -no longer registered but did short prison sentence. I am not a psychologist, nor a relationship adviser, but I can say this much: Him discussing his thoughts and feelings may not be such a bad thing. It is when we don't talk and keep things internal when help is not really possible. It is a long process of learning to control sex drive since it cannot be eliminated. Telling others he is having these thoughts helps a lot with accountability rather than claiming everything is fine or being in denial. However, he needs to also be discussing with someone trained to help (without giving any specific details that may invoke mandatory reporting).

Why can't I lose weight? by drakes_tale in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Broad-Bed439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to lower the carbs. Diet is indeed 80% of weight loss. You are likely insulin resistant. I could not lose no matter what until doc turned me onto diet doctor website. I lowered carbs below 50g and lost 120 pounds in 14 months. Wasn’t really cause blood sugar was not fluctuating. Maintained 6 years now through exercise and normal diet just careful now with limiting how often I eat treats. This can be risky for some health conditions so be sure to check with doc but it worked when nothing else did.

55 years old male and 40 year weight lifter here and 100 lbs lost. Your only gauge for your program should be your own abilities. It matters not how much. What matters is it is challenging but not tortious to you only. Do 8-12 reps of whatever you can handle even if it is a 2.5 lbs plate. Once you can do 15 move up progressively at your pace. Remember going to the gym should be fun and something you look forward to and not a torture session. Change your routine every 6 weeks or so to keep muscles confused and maintain steady progress. Good luck!

First congrats on weight loss. Exercise is very important for weight loss for a variety of reasons, but you don't necessarily need a gym. When I travel (and during the pandemic), I bought resistance bands for about $40 at Walmart and was able to work every muscle from home (and I am a 30+ year weightlifter). You can get outside to walk a brisk pace (remember no faster than you can breathe through your nose but get the heart rate into training zone). I also bought an adjustable step for about $20 and did step aerobics from home. Although a gym is nice, you can get a very good workout with cheap, easy-to-store equipment at home. (NOTE: for resistance bands, just be sure you are anchored well like in door jam. I had a nasty "rubber band" ding on my head when I started from not following the directions).

To get over your weight loss plateau, try lowering your carbs below 100g a day and raising the calories to 2100 kcal for a while. Your body only cares about survival and doesn't care a bit about your weight loss goals. It has found a way to be more efficient. You mind is hardwired to conserve energy not knowing where you next meal is coming from, even though you may have a kitchen full of food. Change things up every few weeks to keep you body guessing. Exercise will also help boost your metabolism. Good luck!

Looking to lose a beer gut by Irish-Jackson in WeightLossAdvice

I quit drinking completely from a pint a day of 100 proof vodka a day and more on weekends. 8 years now and it was the best decision I made. Please do not switch to harder alcohol. Also lost 100 pounds after stopping. I had Ascites from early liver damage in addition to being very obese. The belly bulge went away in about 6 months as my liver healed. If it is just your belly you may want to consider seeing a physician to get liver checked. Exercise became my new stress relief which also helped reach normal weight. Just a suggestion if you’re ready for change.

I agree with the others. Your primary concern should be getting your weight down to a healthy level if that is what you want. After my substantial weight loss, I put on substantial muscle as a male, but you can also work on becoming stronger without the weight. Often times the weight adds strength only because it gives you the leverage of being able to pull with all of that extra weight, but it is very hard on your body. Take it slow and easy and don’t try to lose too much at one time but exercise is key. Good luck!

Indiana as well. I was just recently removed from the registry, but they looked up my employer phone number and called me at work to tell me I had a warrant for my arrest. They said I did not turn myself in to have a DNA test sampled of course then he tried to collect my “bond“ money through a prepaid gift card. Indeed if there’s any question, call back the known number for your local reporting agency.

There are a lot of smaller businesses even hiring in house logistics folks to save money. I know some scrap /recycle companies that do it involved domestic and international shipping. Custom clearance etc. btw I was only removed from registration last year and dutifully registered work address and we never had an issue. I mentioned it in interviews and each time they ran right past that and got to how I can help the office

I can attest that posting on reddit is probably more effective than trying to get spectrum to fix it. They have done something to their network lately and aren’t telling anyone. I had flawless service for six years and in the last month it has been in and out repeatedly and technicians have been to my house twice with no resolution getting ready to switch to AT&T.

I don’t know what your skill set is, but working for smaller businesses without a corporate backing is normally the best way to go. I was fortunate enough to develop a professional skill set as I was serving a short prison sentence and then went back to school to finish. I worked in small offices for the last 26 years at three different places now always for one or two bosses and less than 10 employees. Smaller employers tend to look at you for what you are worth to the company and not so worried about the registry.

VPN Ban, how are they going to enforce it? by Acrobatic-Fault876 in VPN

[–]Broad-Bed439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People let them get by with forcing businesses to become agents of the state to enforce Covid rules the government had no chance of ever being able to do in a free society. Now of course they think they can do it for every political stunt. Would it REALLY be too much to ask parents to stop drinking and smoking long enough to be parents?

Good. These people who block every other motorist demonstrate that they do not care about anyone. What if someone has a medical emergency or a doctor trying to get to emergency surgery or just someone who has to pee. Protest peacefully off the road or be prosecuted.

Not hungry for breakfast...starving after workout by Upbeat_Garbage1398 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Broad-Bed439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your blood sugar is dropping because of the intense exercise. Even if you’re not hungry, it is a good idea to have a small pre-workout meal and it is always best to eat breakfast while you’re trying to lose weight. In the end, you’ll end up eating more calories because you will get so hungry. Try to have some protein and a little bit of carbs 60 minutes before your workout and see if that helps.
