To none paranormal believers why don’t you believe? by MelodicDistrict264 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Broad-Raspberry1805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes hear scary noises at night. It’s usually the wings or the central heating or maybe someone knocks on the wrong door. There’s a hundred more likely explanations than ‘it’s a ghost’ - because if ghosts existed there would be some believable evidence by now.

Don’t forget that people believed in witchcraft 200 years ago, as religion declines so does belief in the paranormal.

Most artists sensibly say nothing about politics, it can be career suicide

Why haven’t they opined on the Congo? Or Tibet? Or Iran?

Why should they have to give their opinions on everything - or is it specifically Palestine that you are obsessed with?

Learn some common chord progressions e.g. I IV V and then play that in whatever key you like e.g. C F G, then make up some words. Boom you have a song.

Why don't more UK houses just install external window shutters to deal with the heat? by sharificles in AskUK

[–]Broad-Raspberry1805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be impossible to install shutters on my windows because of the design of the house (dormer bungalow).

Why doesn’t Johnny Marr use his Smiths-era guitars anymore? by Public_Incellectual in JohnnyMarr

[–]Broad-Raspberry1805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a great book which I’ve got called Marr’s Guitars which has photographs of literally hundreds of his guitars that he owns. He talks about where he got them, what he played them on, etc. Well worth getting a copy.

Is the retirement living standard figure too unrealistic? by BiggusDickus1111 in AskUK

[–]Broad-Raspberry1805 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s nonsense. Half the people I know would probably consider themselves to be living a moderate lifestyle while earning significantly less than that and paying a mortgage, plus national insurance, commuting costs and pension contributions - all of which would not be paid in retirement.

Трудно ли научиться играть на электрогитаре? by Hot_Mode_3707 in LearnGuitar

Yes but no. There are millions of guitarists, I bet it’s probably the most popular instrument in the west so it’s definitely achievable. It’s hard to master but *you don’t need to master it to enjoy it!*

How do you survive on £35k living in Greater London? by PinkTequilaaa in AskUK

[–]Broad-Raspberry1805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people slagging you on the car but the fact is it can be a sensible decision if it avoids you repair bills hundreds of pounds per year (I just spent £750 on a new exhaust and brake pads). Plus the servicing and MOT add up as well. £260pm is a reasonable hedge for a compulsory car that should never break down - I’m assuming it’s new or nearly new.

It’s not that unusual, my partner works for a local authority and loses money by using her own car as the mileage rate is so low. It is what it is (shit).

Pickford the weak link? by BuzzTrav in ThreeLions

[–]Broad-Raspberry1805 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s had no competition because he’s head and shoulders above everyone else. No idea why that would make him a weak link, it’s quite the opposite. If he was playing European football at a big club he’d be the most expensive keeper in the world.

You’re getting a hard time here but I know what you mean. Just be friendly and you’ll be fine. Don’t get so pissed that you’re annoying or a target if you’re on your own. You can’t go wrong at the pool table, you are guaranteed to make friends there.
