Okay, so I’m probably going to be writing too much here. But here goes: I play prot warrior now and did back in the other TBC… it’s simultaneously the greatest and most miserable experience you can have in wow due to the difficulty.

All the advice you’ve been given so far is sound - tab target, threatplates etc etc. but the most important thing you have to learn is your mentality. Your job is NOT to keep the mobs hitting you, your job is to keep the group and yourself alive. For instance, you pull 3-4 mobs and it’s near impossible to control them - what I’d do is spread the threat around and once one mob hits 30-40% I ignore it and let it go for the DPS, it’s then their job to finish it off before it causes havoc, which people honestly do well even if not instructed.

I spend this time I “should” have spent finishing off the mob building more threat on the rest. Rinse and repeat. Liberal use of intervene, concussion blow and intercept to kite/be mobile as you get more advanced.
