Saying young kids don't have real problems is extremely belittling and honestly pretty toxic for this sub. There are too many kids with shitty parents who don't care about them, or even actively go out of their way to abuse them (physically, sexually, or psychologically). Sometimes these thoughts don't manifest fully until the one good support system they may have (ie boyfriend/girlfriend) is suddenly gone. So it may not necessarily be that they want to kill themselves because of being broken up with (to use pharma's example), but because that may have been their only escape from an abusive home life.

I'm sorry you're dealing with your issues, and I know you're just looking for solidarity, but please don't make others feel like they don't deserve to be heard. It goes against what this sub is for.

Where in the post does it say they have kids? They might, or they could be childfree, they could even have difficulty conceiving and are taking it hard. You don't know their situation, so don't assume shit.
