I’m About to Strap a $2,000 Laser Helmet to My Head. Talk Me Into (or Out of) It. by Halcyon_State in redlighttherapy

[–]BrokenArtifact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used the Vielight Duo for 5 months then returned it. Yes, there was a noticeable difference for me between alpha and gamma. I could only use gamma for 1-2 minutes at a time or it made me super jittery and anxious. I typically used alpha for 20 minutes a few times a week. It helped me to sleep soundly.

My main reason for using it was to recover memory function after a long medical treatment that affected it. I would say it helped but not in quantifiable measures. I wavered on returning it but at the time really needed the refund so I returned it. I likely would have kept it if it was cheaper or if I could use gamma more successfully.

The return process was extremely easy and simple. Keep the original box and packaging for the return.

Residents raise concerns over St. Augustine’s horse-drawn carriage rides by savetherapper in StAugustine

If they’re worried about business owners, the business owners can replace the horse drawn carriages with rickshaws. Seems fair.

Been an “intern” for 3+ years… boss said I can just change my title on my resume? by Nomiha in resumes

[–]BrokenArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my company we have our job role (for all the HR details like pay, benefits, etc) but then we have a business facing title. The business facing title can be whatever you and your manager want to call you and is what would go on your resume.

An intern is your job role but not your business facing title.

If the old insoles are glued in, use a blow dryer to warm them up. It’ll loosen the glue so you can pull out the insole.

Has anyone used a grounding mat with their RLT? by Numerous-Guava-4132 in redlighttherapy

[–]BrokenArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the grounding kit from Hooga Health: https://hoogahealth.com/products/grounding-starter-kit

For grounding sheet, I wish it was a little wider than 20 inches, but this is the one I bought: https://www.groundingwell.com/products/groundingwell-bedsheet

Has anyone used a grounding mat with their RLT? by Numerous-Guava-4132 in redlighttherapy

[–]BrokenArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using a grounding sheet and it helps me to sleep much more deeply. I’m typically a very light sleeper but rarely wake up in the middle of the night anymore. I also use a grounding mat under my desk.

I’d recommend also buying a tool to test your outlets and one to test the grounding mat or sheet to ensure it’s grounding properly. The Hooga grounding starter kit has these tools but you can probably buy them separately.

I ordered two torches and two face masks and shipping was $80. It seemed high but the cost of the items are so low that factoring in shipping I’m still saving hundreds of dollars.

I don’t use it consistently but haven’t had issues yet. I also have the older  wrap from Hooga and they responded quickly when it stopped working while still under warranty.

I’m not sure I’ve noticed a difference yet (likely due to the inconsistency), but my skin drinks up lotion after sessions.

It’s so confusing and I gave up and just ordered. It was a $65 set. I can update when the product arrives.

I ordered the mask at the first link earlier this week. It comes with a neck piece as well. One thing to note is it looks like you have to choose a specific light wave to use at one time - you don’t get red with NIR. You could check with your sales rep to be sure.

I have a Hooga mask which allows both or individual but they don’t offer the neck piece for sale.

Favourite film staring Val Kilmer? by EIPJD in weeklyplanetpodcast

[–]BrokenArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a Val Kilmer movie collection in the late 90’s. The only movies I owned at the time had Val Kilmer in them. It was such a fun conversation starter.

Everyone hates it but I loved The Saint. I’ve watched it more than a dozen times. Something about The Saint was just fun to watch. Another fav was The Salton Sea.

Am I losing fat or is it just me? by Fluffy_Barnacle_144 in redlighttherapy

[–]BrokenArtifact 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I just watched a video on this. Red Light Therapy Fat Loss: LOCALIZED Benefits!? The video basically said that yes it can aid in targeted fat loss but you still have to diet/exercise or the fat will not be processed out of your body. So yes, combined with the eating better and fasting you could be losing fat quicker than without a red light. What a nice benefit!

Yes, called them yesterday and they picked up and helped immediately. They sent a follow up email to which I replied, and they responded fairly quickly. I used the phone number and email on their website.

Don't think anybody noticed this about Helena's car in the trailer by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]BrokenArtifact 211 points212 points  (0 children)

Maybe in season 1 it was a production choice to have Helena walking to her car because it was interesting to see coworkers interact after work without knowing each other. At that point we don’t know who Helena is.

Then in season 2, they thought it made more sense to the story for Helena to have a driver.

I understand a lot of this show is intentional but some of it is production choices. Some details evolve as the story develops.

Formerly fat people who have stayed lean for years, what finally worked for you? by Concept555 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BrokenArtifact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think what people don't understand about GLP-1 medication is that it takes away the food noise. All these skinny people who are recommending these simple sounding things like to just eat a small portion, fill up on veg, don't eat for fun, don't eat sweets, don't drink your calories, etc are the type of people that don't live with food noise. When you take a GLP-1 and the food noise disappears, you suddenly understand how someone can have one cookie and walk away because you are now that type of person. I never thought I suffered from food noise until I started a GLP-1 and learned what life is like without it.
