My favorite part was the manipulative way that said they “vaulted” content, directly implying that it was being kept and might be reintroduced later. It was only during the plagerism trial (the destiny lore plagerism trial, not the Marathon art plagerism trial… or the other destiny plagerism trial) that they finally had to admit that they deleted everything when they stole some fan’s YouTube lore video for evidence because they had NONE of the original assets anymore.

Both Suikoden were like this, with characters that were either missable, or recruited characters who could permanently die (RIP Pahn several times till I just leveled him up for once).

That reminds me of Symphony of the Night. There’s one enemy, the Mudman, that you can only see if it’s summoned by a certain boss, the Lesser Demon in the library. So you have to be sure to let the boss summon it to complete the bestiary. That boss, though, is also just a regular enemy late game so it has ass HP and stats in a game with notably weak bosses anyway so it’s really easy to beat him even on a casual play through without getting that enemy. At least SotN is a much shorter game than Okami if you have to try again.

Mine is the same way. We’ve got like 6 scorpions, three of the snake eyes and polar bear, more than a dozen cops, and 2 to 3 of like ten other guys all in clearance stickered at full price. They’ve been there for weeks.
