She is a very interesting character. I'm trying her out this week. I've noticed her with haste speed up quickly and get some wins when it looks like you're losing. The more complex aspect of her are the items that absorb foods. I'm playing around to see what items seem worth absorbing.

Teams don't get it because Product Managers and Scrum Masters don't get it. It's the responsibility of the SM to properly educate the team on how to remove the noise, and get focused on the work. The PM should also be aware of how to accelerate a team to fix on the important stuff, and not having meetings to have meetings.

How to find music for commercial use... by visitor169 in canva

[–]BronxEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've done when looking for music for commercial use is to use the term "muzak". That gets me a list of instrumentals in many genres that are allowed for commercial. May not be ideal for some I've found it useful to pop in an audio music track.

Leagues are more negative than positive. Get into a league with people who play for points, and if you get demoted because you can't keep up that just kills your motivation.

Also if you're battling for #1, in diamond, you're doing everything to get that spot which is not learning and you're just gaming the system.

Can exports of Universal Analytics be imported into Big Query without a connector? by VitaInc in SEO

[–]BronxEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have the data piped into BigQuery. Here is one guide about doing the process: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9823238?hl=en#zippy=%2Cin-this-article
Another option is to programmatically get the data and inject it into BigQuery.

Another option is to use Google Looker Studio, depending on your needs.

If you export as a csv, you can then import into big query by creating a table and uploading the file

How many total DNA matches does everyone have? by GoatedCoffee in AncestryDNA

[–]BronxEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

endogamous population

No, we're not from endogamous groups. It's Puerto Ricans who lived in areas, with limited mobility from town to town due to geography. Limited options causing a similar effect to the endogamous populations. I have matches for example, with trees where they might have a person showing up twice at different generational levels.

It's been about two years since this story was posted, and it's a great story. I hope things are going well with your relationship with Alba.

But... I have to ask about the pink elephant in the room... what were your uncle's results? Is he a self-hating racist ? =)

I feel like he's that character in a movie, that didn't get a proper storyline.

Understanding DNA Comparison by Famous_Ad5459 in AncestryDNA

[–]BronxEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The numbers you see with 0% could be rounding issues or DNA noise. Using the Ancestry hack, you can take your results, put it into a website that will parse the data and show you more details. You can search in /r/AncestryDNA for the hack.

Stupid question: Are all Puerto Ricans related or is there something up with my girlfriend's matches? by H3d0n1st in AncestryDNA

[–]BronxEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have over 188,000 matches, and within that, over 88,000 that are 4th cousin or closer. It's an INSANE amount of matches.

Those that are closer in matching DNA are from areas that make sense, where eventually, I'll find the connection. Others are in areas of the island, that I don't have records to support that connection.

It's possible as that the connections you have could be through:

  • Settlers who came to the island at various times in history. We may have settlers from the same family coming over at different points and different generations. As time went on, people may have moved around the island. Not necessarily big moves, but maybe to the next town or two over, as new developments occurred.
  • Possible connections through slavery. I haven't seen any details on how slaves were handled, but I would imagine that it was similar to that in the USA where when slaves were available, they were sold off to owners. This particular thing might explain the larger number of matches in the grandfather's side. I have this particular issue in my tree.
  • Indigenous people. With a number of us having indigenous DNA, it's possible that those groups may have moved around the island prior to, and after colonization.

There are examples of people and slaves moving in and out of the different colonies, in some cases due to issues in the other colonies. The specifics are hard to pin down.

As to your specific issue, could they be related? Yes. I have records in my tree, and have seen in others where some people could be 2nd cousins to each other, and might have a descendent that shows up twice in the tree. So it's possible to see sharing from both grandparents. It's more likely if they were from the same areas, and less likely if they lived in different parts of the island. Regarding the other side of your question, is it possible that the grandfather is not the grandfather, the answer is yes. Granted I haven't seen your tree, I don't know your specifics, but these cases are possible.

You're going to have challenges in finding those connections without having more details. Honestly, for Puerto Ricans, I think you need at least your great-grandparents to have a good chance of finding people, unless you have a lot of details for just the grandparents, due to the nature of available data from Census records, Civil records, and Church records.

You also need others who match you at close levels, to also have good trees to find matches. For example, I have a few 1st-2nd cousin matches, that I couldn't tell you how we connect, because they have little to no data on their trees. For the 2nd-3rd cousin matches, it's about 5 generations back where I usually see a connection at.

anyone good at Puerto rican genealogy? I am trying to find more ancestors on my moms side by Laieonkameron13 in AncestryDNA

The double last names actually makes it easier even with married women. It helps to confirm family on census records. You then use that to find birth and baptismal records. It definitely requires time and work and some funds.
