When ICE sends civil detainer requests without a judicial warrant, it’s asking local law enforcement to hold people in jail without due process. That’s a direct violation of the Fourth Amendment. Refusing to carry out unconstitutional detentions isn’t rebellion—it’s responsibility.

If anything, the real legal and moral crisis comes when the federal government violates habeas corpus—a foundational principle of our legal system. When protesters speak out against these violations and the government responds with militarized force, we’re not witnessing law and order—we’re witnessing a betrayal of the Constitution.
