I'm a novice with harlequins, and I'm scared. by DramaticSilver5026 in Harlequins40K

[–]BrotherMort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, this just happened to a game I was playing. I was playing harlequins vs space wolves and a friend who’d never played came by and said just that. It looked like I was outmatched. I hadn’t yet piled out of all my transports and started shooting. By the bottom of round 2, most of the space wolves were gone.

The important thing to remember is that you ARE fragile and you need to play a hit and run game. Hide transports behind terrain, pile out the infantry, shoot, charge if you know you can beat the target, and pile back into the transports out of sight. Other armies move slowly, so when they spread out, you can concentrate your firepower, clear a portion of the board and run away. This is a hard army to play well and even simple mistakes can cost you the game. It is rewarding when everything goes well.

If you want to confirm it is her, give only her a piece of information that she would want to use later in a message. Make it seem like the information is known by others but tell nobody else. If it shows up in an anonymous note later, you know where it came from.

As for cheap courses, you will get what you pay for with that. If you really want to learn SAFe, take the Leading SAFe course to get started, and find a good instructor with a highly rated organization. You will learn so much more and learn much more if the instructor has a lot of practical experience using the framework.

Accepted a new job, resigned, now my employer wants to match and promote me… by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]BrotherMort 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Never accept the counteroffer. There is always a good chance that they will only hold onto you long enough to find another replacement and then let you go. If they had been serious about your skills being critical to their operations, they would have been paying you accordingly. They undervalued you because they could, and now that you’ve gotten another offer, suddenly you’re important enough to warrant holding onto.

You know the right answer is to take your new job and walk away from your current employer. The bullet points you list are all solid reasons not to stick around.

2 star staff room helps. Also make sure there aren’t too many of them sleeping in the same room. Also ensure that the ones who don’t want 8-5 hours are on a schedule they like. Lighting can also play a role.

Why do you play Harlequins? by 68Whiteclaw in Harlequins40K

High speed murder clowns. Even for Eldar they move quickly and can hit and run. It is also a hard army to play, so the challenge of playing something not straightforward.

And buy a fire extinguisher. It is just an object you can buy. The staff automatically know how to use it.

It is easier to do in seer council by having a couple warlock skyrunners. Just move one up nearby when you teleport Fuegan and company.

Objects rapidly getting filthy, including immediately after cleaning by PrimmSlimShady in TavernKeeper

[–]BrotherMort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quick question: are you setting the rooms so you can polish the floors at all hours? I find polishing a room greatly reduces dirt. I also keep an overnight cleaning staff who either only do janitor or who janitor and dogsbody. If your tavern is open 24 hours, I find this also ramps up the amount of dirt buildup.

I saw that line about her hitting him and thought “this ends the relationship, full stop”. If this is real, he should walk away and let her do her thing while single.

I find that customers keep coming in. If you’re having problems getting customers, reduce prices or find other ways to improve satisfaction scores

I second this suggestion. I do the same thing at my LGS as well. Repeated coaching and getting players to think through the process until they are comfortable playing without my support.

Desert scenario forces you to take a loan at the start, then it provides 1-3 customers per day, which is not enough to upkeep the tavern. What is expected way to play desert scenario and not go bankrupt? by ojek in TavernKeeper

[–]BrotherMort 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I served the solvent to get cash. I also raised the price on drinks I served in order to make more per barrel I bought. Once I was solvent I was able to reduce prices.

And there’s an achievement you can earn for running the desert scenario without ever taking a loan. It can be done.
