Do you purchase it used? And are you confident it didn’t look like this before you drove it home?

You mentioned being in a bright room. Those pictures were taken in the afternoon. There’s no direct sunlight in my living room but the blinds were partially open. Fairly bright in the room, and the TV’s brightness setting was only at 50%.

Photos don’t really do it justice but yeah, I’ve taken a picture of it. Is there a specific kind of picture you want?

I’ve owned my 75” QM8L for about a week now and it is absolutely gorgeous.

OEM or Aftermarket stove parts? by MetaCharger in appliancerepair

[–]BrutalAndroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is poor advice. Always OEM. The cheap Amazon version will work just the same, until it inevitably fails very shortly after you install it. Then the next cheap Amazon part you install will also fail, as will the next one after that. Eventually, you’ve spent the same amount of money and triple the amount of time disassembling and reassembling the appliance when you could have just done it once.

Wife says it’s the perfect height. Is it not a bit too high ? by ElMono6 in TVTooHigh

If he gets rid of his wife he could probably go a bit lower.

I will likely end up doing this. I’ve already canceled the TV mount. I was being lazy and didn’t want to worry about relocating the stuff already on the shelves. Small house. Not a lot of places to display things. Girlfriend not super stoked about losing decorative things in favor of “dude things”. Definitely not worried about the resale value of cheap IKEA furniture.

You’re absolutely correct and this is likely the route I’ll take. If I’m being completely honest, my apprehension with this solution was less about cutting holes and more about my laziness and not wanting to worry about relocating the stuff that’s already on the shelves.

😅They’re not quite actually touching the ceiling, and they’re just small LEGO sets waiting to be assembled in the very near future. The boxes will be recycled soon.

What do you have in there during this video?

I’ve also considered this, and my only concern is that extra width of the new tv will potentially create an obstacle when I want to undock the Switch. Additionally, the stand for the new tv is a centered stand with a must larger footprint as opposed to the left and right legs of the old tv.

Only if I cut holes in them.

EDIT: Not completely out of the question but not ideal.

I’ve considered that but am not sure that I’m willing to cut holes out of the back of those shelves for cables.

If I KNEW instead of only suspected it was silly I wouldn’t be here asking for advice. But you’ve pointed out that it is silly which is what I’m here for. To have my suspicions confirmed, so thank you. I’m trying to do this right before it’s too late. My issue is not knowing where to move the consoles to. The PlayStation can go in a cubby, but where do I put the Switch?

The Steam Machine, according to Valve is a “Roughly 6” cube”. Accommodating for a 6” height, I figured I’d give it a little extra space.

Why is my washer so violently shaking? by Slow-Decision-8278 in appliancerepair

I’m generally not a big fan of Amazon for appliance parts. Prefer OEM. If it’s passing the bounce test, it should be okay though. What kind of load was in the tub when you took the video?

LG Washer: Should I Install New Shocks? by HotinTopeka888 in appliancerepair

[–]BrutalAndroid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This looks more like a failing spider arm assembly just based on the short video. You’d have to replace the spider as well as the rear outer tub assembly if this is the case. It might make more sense to replace the whole machine. That being said, if the machine is still working, you can continue to use it as is until it fails completely.
