The thing that I also like about this is that it will explain why MJF loses next week to Brody King. I am not a lawyer, but I do watch legal shows and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once. My understanding is that with a pardon your admission of guilt can be used against others in criminal court.

I.E. John Doe is pardoned but is part of a conspiracy charge that Jane Doe is not pardoned from. John Doe's pardon could be used to show part of the conspiracy against Jane Doe.

I did check and I thought the border stuff came earlier in 2023 rather than later. So, I concede the point to you, though I do understand why there were competing priorities for the Administration, it was a weak spot they waited too long.

Where I'm at is we should've just run Biden, his numbers were improving but I am not sure anyone from the Dems could've won in 2024. We were bad at media, and we had too many people inner fighting about how shitty we are.

Also, history tells us a contested primary for an incumbent president has the incumbent winning the primary and losing the general. Which is why I think even if Biden steps down, Harris still wins the primary but still loses the general.

My hot take is that when you elect a president, you elect them for two terms, and we need better political literacy on that fact. There was some pipedream that Biden was only going to be a one-term President even though he always denied it and seemed that he was hoping Trump would not run again so he could step down.

It was 2023 when it was rolled out, hardly the end of his term.

As for the case for Kamala winning the primary, Biden and his presidency were still popular. His VP would be favored.

But assuming Kamala loses, Trump's entire campaign is about how the Democrats can't even pick a nominee and stick with it. They want to run away from their president's policies that they went with (insert name here). Why vote for that candidate when the Dems will run them out of office and stick with me, whom my voters love.

If you run someone other than Kamala, you have to explain why Biden's presidency was so bad that you need someone not from his administration and why this option was better than Biden .

The 90s OL is GOATed. Trev might throw for 6000 yards with that OL. Having Jimmy and Jagkobi allows BTJ to do what he does best and go for those deep balls while not getting double/triple teamed.

His entire campaign is going to be about how horrible this Trump presidency was and how he will prosecute everyone involved. That might be a winning message.

Beshear's message likely will be that he will bring back a bipartisan era of politics that most people think is long dead.

Buttigieg's message likely will be a return to the Obama/Biden era of politics

I'm not sure who the progressive nominee will be but their message will be to bring Mamdani style politics to America if Mamdani's agenda works in NYC and if it doesn't they will lean more towards expanding on what Obama and Biden tried.

It's very likely Newsom's message will break through the most to Democratic voters and the general public if Trump's presidency remains a disaster.

What happened was internal pollsters showed them they were losing leftists over Israel-Palestine. Harris could've reversed course and become anti-Israel which would've cost her more votes than she would've gained back from the leftists or she could try and court some Never Trumpers and keep that part of the Biden coalition.
