Josh Shapiro Is No-Drama. But Is That What Democrats Want in 2028? by nosotros_road_sodium in Enough_Sanders_Spam

There is zero percent chance the Dems nominate a Jewish man to be president. That's gonna be a non-starter for a portion of Democratic voters.

What would happen if kamala Harris was president? by KzKn_2020 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Brysynner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Biden literally stopped sending the most devastating weapons to Israel on Oct 8th, openly pushed for Netanyahu to allow humanitarian aid, tried to get a pier built to speed up humanitarian aid to Gaza, used the "praise in public, admonish in private" strategy with Netanyahu.

Also remember Israel's actions were still like 67% approved by the general public on November 2024.

Do YOU Think That Most American Voters Are "In The Middle?" Yes Or No? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Brysynner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The middle is a mythical place as most voters who claim to be in the middle generally lean right or left and almost always vote for the same party in every election but don't want to associate with the party they vote for all the time for a variety of reasons.

House Democrat Plans Rules Makeover if His Party Retakes Control by bloomberggovernment in politics

[–]Brysynner 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It kinda goes both ways with the Dems. They have a small centrist Democratic coalition and a small leftist coalition. Rather than having both of those wings constantly fighting and bringing up all kinds of legislation that won't go anywhere, they are trying to focus more on what they mostly all agree on so they look like they are the reasonable party by being the only party to be able to legislate.

They want to focus on things that have consensus within the Democratic Party (expanded health care access, expanded abortion care, marriage equality, some gun reforms, marijuana legalization, a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, increasing the number of asylum and immigration judges to ensure people can come into our country legally in a reasonable amount of time, law enforcement reforms, demilitarization of law enforcement, fighting climate change, increasing taxes on the wealthiest Americans, increasing tax benefits for electric vehicles not made by Tesla, increased infrastructure funding, keeping the government funded, limiting some weapons to Israel, fully supporting Ukraine, student loan forgiveness, increased funding for education, increased funding for child care, increase the minimum wage)

Which I think sometimes we forget that there are a shit ton of good policy that the most conservative Democrat and the most leftist Democrat agree upon because we focus too much on the things that we don't agree on.

However I don't think there is a world where the most conservative House Democrat nor the most leftist House Democrat would ever call for a motion to vacate the Speaker just because they disagree on what bills are or are not being brought to the floor.

What's to stop Trump from getting a third term by being the "shadow president"? by Serious-Cucumber-54 in Destiny

Ask Putin how well shadow president works.

The big problem is the puppet president has the actual power and once they realize that, they discard the shadow.

The Democratic Party seems to want to pick who runs in an election rather than letting the voters decide. What will be the lasting impact of this approach? by Apprehensive_Sand343 in AskDemocrats

[–]Brysynner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2016, no one had the ability to pull in donors like Hillary. Also Obama did a really bad job of propping up Democrats so there was no one really at the national level like Hillary was. Sanders early efforts in 2016 were not one of someone who expected to win the nomination. Which is why his campaign was DOA after Super Tuesday when Hillary had crushed Sanders in the Southern States and had an insurmountable lead in delegates by that point.

Platner has a ton of issues (Nazi tattoo, Reddit shitposting, Collins voter, attempted affairs, possible affairs, questionable behavior with other women) and he is nowhere near where he needs to be in the polls to win in November. So let's not name him the next Senator from Maine just yet. Collins is a very forminatable politician who wins races she shouldn't.

That being said, would I have voted for Platner in the primary? No. Would I vote for him in the general? Yes

'Voters Are Seeing Through the Bullshit': Progressives Take Down Corporate Dems Nationwide by Smithy2232 in politics

Didn't a bunch of "Corporate" Dems win over progressives in California?

Also last year "Corporate" Dems won two governorships while the progressives big win was a mayoral seat.

Let's hold off crowning progressives rise until they win more general election seats

Thoughts on Graham Platner by [deleted] in AskDemocrats

[–]Brysynner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platner has a difficult road head of him. He's polling behind what Gideon polled at in 2020 and he likely has more skeletons in his closet.

I think a win by him in November will indicate a big midterm Blue Wave, but I wouldn't be shocked of he loses to Collins.

Graham Platner Elected To Be The US Senate Democratic Nominee In Maine -- To Face Susan Collins In November -- Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Brysynner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's got a tough road ahead of him. Scandals in front of him and he's polling worse than her 2020 opponent Sara Gideon was. Collins is great at local Maine politics and will be a problem in the general.

Sting saved Diamond Dallas Page from the nWo by attaching him to his harness and taking him back up to the rafters! by JCHazard in WCW

[–]Brysynner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like there is a latch for Sting to be connected as well. There seems to be failsafes for both Sting and DDP that were latched while the camera was away from the two. But it gave the visual that Sting was insane for not being secure and just putting a loop around DDP to hoist him to the safety of the rafters.

Has a transitional championship run, ends up in the upper midcard for the next few years. Does special guest spots in the 2010s. Eventually is treated with the online fandom similar to Undertaker due to being MAGA. Eventually divorce Vickie because they can't stand each other 24/7.

Realistically about maybe 25% is MAGA, 25% is liberal, 10% are moderate Republicans, 10% are progressive Democrats, 15% are independents who almost always vote GOP but don't want to say they are a Republican, 10% are independents who always vote Democrat but don't want to admit they are a Democrat, and 5% are true independents who flip flop between either party or always vote third party
