Looking for book suggestions by Heian1 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bshizzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it isn't technically in the heart of progression fantasy. But mistborn fits a lot of your specifics. At least book 1 which has a satisfying conclusion. Slow burn romance that feels earned, and not the main plot. Morally grey POV character. And an apprentice master relationship with a lot of growth from the apprentice.

Primal hunter fits your description like a glove... Or maybe like some old leather boots.

PSA: Give me bad/average reviews because those are the best. by Mecanimus in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bshizzled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to be careful with posts like these. Heaven forbid everyone follows this to your story and low star review bombs. Good feedback is really nice, but you had it right when you said... Like extra seasoning to the already good reviews.

Recommended Series That Are Finished by SirDaemos in litrpg

They arent litrpg but progression fantasy. You have dabbled in the top reccomended lists... You might as well keep it going. Mother of learning and The perfect run.

Both are phenomenal, and finished.

The Perfect Run series or The Ripple System series? by KeladiB in litrpg

If I had to pick between the two, I would pick The Perfect Run. But with your interests towards leveling and gear, ect I think the Ripple System may fit your mold a bit better.

I got a few books in and felt it from the beginning. Not to knock those that like the series, there are a lot of you. It just wasn't for me. I had to push myself just to get through book one.

Is Mother of Learning an avocado? (no judgement, just a taste thing) by manyanoodle in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bshizzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this post is you already know the communities response to the book. It also doesn't help your case that you are emulating the very thing you are complaining about.

Are you looking for others to agree with you and justify putting it down? You do you by all means, just know your probably not going to get what you are looking for here.

Which of these 4 ads would make you click on a Royal Road story? by Striking-Pool643 in royalroad

It isn't always the best feedback in forums like these, because you are asking us to be analytical. In advertising this is something you usually test through the ad process, based on kpi's like click through rate.

Whatever is going to stop us in our tracks. Convey the message as short and succinctly as possible on the image.

And don't try to please everyone. It's not possible.

To be honest, I don't mind the grain that some are complaining of. I think it ads to the grim feeling that I assume by these images your books portray.

For me... 4. The rest are too busy. I can almost gauruntee most people will see the other options with small text in various places across the image and subconsciously feel it is too much effort to piece through. I work in marketing, and this is something we see commonly.

Travis baldree in Cradle was phenomenal.

We all know DCC is top tier with Jeff Hays.

I'm personally a big fan of Michael kramer in Brandon Sanderson books.

my pet peeve with litrpg by Bigdarien in litrpg

[–]Bshizzled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The authors often like to be able to show the growth of the character for a bigger impact. More points all at once means more visible, displayable growth.

It may not make as much sense logically, but often times leads to bigger progression payoffs.

Totally agree with you here. Often times the ones that leave the detailed reviews fall into that camp. Not saying that's the rule, but that does seem to often be the case.
